Guest guest
Hi all! I know I haven't participated much here recently, in fact probably many of you don't even know who I am! I do still try to keep up with reading the messages but haven't had much time to actually post to the group. I had a ultrasound done yesterday, and my liver doc. wants me to have a liver biopsy done. There was some evidence of chirrosis, and he wants to get a better idea of what's going on with the biopsy. He said that it isn't mandatory, and he's leaving it up to me whether I get it or not, but that he'd like to have the data. I know the biopsy is supposed to be very uncomfortable (or is uncomfortable a euphamism for painful), but I think I can deal with that. What I'm wondering is if there are any things I should know about it before I have it done. Any risks associated or any general information about how to go about making sure it's done right? I've had one done before, but that one was done when I had my gallbladder out, so I couldn't tell what it felt like! Any info from people who have been through it would be appreciated! And don't be afraid of scaring me... I don't scare easily! athan
