Sorry not on so long, kids home on Christmas break-older kids home

from out of town with my grandbabies, new grand baby born! Very busy.

Thank you for the responses on my " new person " post. I gained weight 15 lbs.

initially right after my injury from non-mobility. I was started on Neurontin

and eventually tapered up to

a dose of 800 mg 4 times a day, along with Zonogran, Elavil for the

burning. This was all after the dx of RSD was made. On the Neurontin,

I gained another 30 lbs. Soon after, I was started on Paxil, and

gained another 30 lbs. I told my doc that I was having some serious

memory problems at school.(combination on-line at school course). I

was forgetting to pay bills, to pick kids up from softball practice,

to take food out of the oven, and some even more important things like

falling asleep at red lights .Here's another good example of memory

loss, I am supposed to be talking about weight gain and I go off on

something else.

Well, my doc decreased my Neurontin to 1800 mg. a day, got rid of

the Zonogran, and started me on Topamax. He said I would loose weight

on it but I have yet to see that. Although I do not fall asleep at red

lights anymore!

There are many factors to weight gain and Neurontin, such as

dose, other meds you are on, your metabolism, even your diagnoses

(initial and/or secondary). Talk to your doctor.

Peace, kp
