Guest guest
Well my friends...I went to my recheck at my orthopedist today...I ran out of pain medications and needed them refilled. I have verbally agreed, not scheduled yet, to have surgery sometime in February. For those of you that may remember, and for those that do not, I had my knee replaced 7 years ago, this year actually, with a stainless steel alloy knee, and my body is rejecting the implant. That particular implant is supposed last 15 years. Well, wouldn't you know it. Anyway, I don't have health insurance....no policy at work and I cannot afford one on my own, so I have really been hesitant and concerned...anyway, long story short is that Dr. Poole is going to work with me on his fee and the clinic will take payments. I am going to go visit the hospital where I am to have it done and get some arrangements made with them as well. Ada County, the county I reside in has an indigent medical plan, that I need to apply for 10 days in advance of the surgery, with a hineyload of support documents that state I am indigent. Anyway that is that. I have also contacted a SSI attorney, to see if I remotely have a chance to get on disability...and the State of Idaho has a provision that if you are qualified for SS disability, and are able to work you can stay on Medicaid and pay a sliding scale premium. I believe Dr. Poole will help me prepare documents for that venture as well. He refilled my vicodin and I also asked him for a muscle relaxer, which he prescribed as well. Guest guest
That is great Martha, I hope u can get your knee all taken care of. I am glad your state offers you help. I don't think Ga offers anything ... the lottery was suppose to offer everything. but they claim even it is broke. yeah right! I see people buying those tickets all the time with their kids begging for a candy bar. or the poor little kids don't even have shoes on their little feet.
