and night my arms or legs would burn and be in so much pain that I

prescribe Methadone, but I am 63 years old, been a lot of places in

this old world, worn designer clothing in size 6 for years, drove

exotic autos, and lived in a beautiful home until our finances got

less and less and my husband fell in love with a drug addict and I am

currently going through a divorce and weigh in excess of 250#, but I

have God back in my life and I will be just fine when this divorce is

over. I know I will. I manage nicely on a lot less money than I use

to have and as long as the Methadone keeps working, if I get

addicted, so what? It won't bother me at all. God Bless all of you

Hi Cile:

I am so glad your Doctor gave you the methadone and the other meds to help

you feel better. I am glad to hear when Doctors care enough to extend

themselves and give patients a break. I thought I was the only one whose Doctor

was

like that. My Doctor prescribes Duragesic patches for me and they make me feel

just great. I have a little pain but nothing like I had before. I have many

problems. I have a kidney transplant 18 years and I was on dialysis 18 years

before that. I also fibro, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, RA, spinal stenosis,

gout, sciatica, asthma, and a breathing disorder called atelectasis. It

causes me to be very short of breath when I walk or have any stress. I also,

have

a messed up rotator cuff in my left shoulder from when I last worked. I was

an RN and on the last day I worked a patient fell on me and ruined my arm.

That was the end of my Nursing Career. I have severe pain and difficulty in

that arm, can't lift it too high. However, with the patches I am pretty good.

I

can deal with it all as long as I have these patches. They make me feel

great.

I am so glad you are doing okay too.

I am 57 and I don't think I could have taken all this pain much longer with

out the patches. Thank God and and God bless my Doctor.

Dear Althea and Friends in Pain,

Opioid pain management is the hallmark of proper care for CIPers.

Some states due to DEA witch hunting have put more restraints on clients

but many pain patients go to other states as need be.

In some dry states the easiest answer is a " methodone clinic " which will

treat anyone including those in pain, and or addicts (not just heroin) but

prescription drug tolerant clients who's physicians fire them.

Sad, but true.

I am an advocate and have referred hundreds across the U.S and Canada for

pain management if anyone needs some help just ask.

I " assume " you have been going to that doctor for a while and he

knows you.

I sometimes have pain so bad that I want to scream and I don't

understand why. My arms and legs go to sleep while I am sleeping

and the blood somehow gets cut off. In my arms they called it

thoracic outlet syndrome but never have offered me anything to help

me. I wonder sometimes if these doctors have a clue as to how to

help us or if they just see dozens of patients a day and then go

home thinking they have done something wonderful while their

patients just go home to await the 60 days till they see the doctor

again.

I have gotten some help over the years but I still wonder as the

years add up and nothing is really done to help me and the pain just

increases.

I think today is beginning as one of my down in the dump days -

tomorrow will be another uplifting day - or later today I will get

out of this glum...lol I am going to the kitchen to make myself

some homemade pecan sticky buns - another 5 pounds but who cares...

only the scale that groans now when I get on it...lol

Well, smile all and wonder with me about when we are going to get

some real relief -
