Hi ,

I have had a burst eardrum, pneumonia, sinus infection and two lung

infections. All this has been during the two and 1/2 years I have

been on Enbrel.

Sorry, , I should have asked all of my questions up front.

Have you been on MTX the entire time you have been on Enbrel? When you say

" two lung infections, " were your physicians any more specific than that?

Are you RF-positive?

Aside from the side effects, is the combination working?

Is Rituxan an option rather than the study agent (which I am assuming is

Humax-CD20)?

I'll tell you where to go!

Hi Rae,

I think the reason I was getting lots of infections was because the

enbrel was surpressing my immune system so any cold I got turned

into an infection.

Do you mind if I ask why you can't take mtx anymore? I have been on

it for about 4 weeks and haven't seen any improvement yet, just

mouth sores and fatigue!

Welcome to the group, Clare!

I'm so sorry to hear about of all of your troubles, especially the recent

discovery of lymphoma.

Did you physicians say that they would be using anything else along with the

Rituxan (rituximab) to treat your lymphoma?

The studies I have read about rituximab have been very encouraging.

I'll tell you where to go!

Dear Clare,

Thanks for responding to my post. So sorry to hear about the

lymphoma. Thank goodness you will get some relief from the RA.

Battling both at the same time would be a lot. Do keep us informed

and my thoughts are with you.
