Guest guest
First of all compliments to Heidy that all by herself found a way of having sex with her husband so she half solved her problem. I wish you could have a baby soon.

Then the real reason of this my message, even if I find the list to be very useful and supportive I need to leave to give myself a break and to see if my VVS will be solved completely.
My situation now is that a part from the effect of calm that Xanax gives me I can do what I want daily without feeling having done the NY marathon, and I can have sex even if there is as a background of mild burning.

MY STORY
I started having a pain on contact on the vulva tissue during a yeast infection lasted more than a year. I was cured both orally and topically for all the time, sometimes I was cultured to see what was causing the infection sometimes not. In this period I changed many doctor believing that if one would not have the solution another will have. By chance I arrived to my actual doctor (a dermatologist and allergologist specialized in vulvar problems) that diagnosed me with a candida allergy. In Italy, where I live, candida allergy is a controversial issue because not all doctors believe in its existence. Anyway with his protocol the candida disappears but after so many cures of the others doctors I developed a vestibulitis. The reason was that so many drugs taken topically inflamed my vestibule. First I was given two creams that solved nothing, then I was proposed tryciclics (Elavil and Atarax) but they not solved the problem. I then stopped any cure for a year because I moved to Ireland, I did not had any intercourse so I never knew if the problem was still there or not, when I came home the problem was still there maybe & quot;bigger & quot; than before. In February I gave another chance to the only doctor that, in some way, helped me, even because I did not know where else to go, he at least was aware of my situation. I went to him and he told me that I probably had also fibro (diagnosed with the pressure of the trigger points and an interview), he proposed me again tryciclics but this time Elavil and Xanax at a very low dose: 0.75 mg/day of Xanax and 2mg/day of Elavil. In 3 months I don't have any more sleep disturbance or other fibro signs and the VVS got better to the point that I am able to have intercourses with a mild burning. I discovered that in these 3 years and half I developed a & quot;intercourse fear & quot; so for me is very important to be relaxed and fresh when having sex in a word I need to want it before I could have had sex always. I probably should consider physiotherapy or biofeedback but for now I just want to give the cure a chance.
I will unsubscribe because I need not to think of vulvar problems constantly, believe me or not, I will miss the morning meeting with you all. I discovered that vulvodynia (meaning the generic term for vulvar pain) can be of sooo many origins and the best solution is educate yourself to find yours in order to find a cure.
If you need me I will be here at my personal address
chimeleg@...
if ever another italian will join the list needing some advice she can contact me
hope evrybody will fin a solution soon
Chiara
