Guest guest
To my PSC friends.......I wanted to share this with you all....I was SO overwhelmed by this gesture! As a last minute decision, , A.J. and I went to the rodeo Saturday night (literally-bought tickets 10 minutes prior to start time). Before the rodeo began, 's 4-H leader and her kids came into the arena with a hog and the announcer said that the hog was donated for auction to benefit a local 10 year old boy named Rhoades who needs a liver transplant. I had NO idea this was going to happen. I cried the whole time the auctioneer was jabbering. I was totally overwhelmed!!!!! He started at $600 and sold at $1600.00. (keep in mind the pig itself was probably worth about $275.00.) (if you are offended by the butchering of animals for food, you may want to skip this final paragraph) By the way......'s 4-H project, Otto the pig, didn't " make weight " Minimum weight was 215 and he was only 206. Ah MAN!!!!! still was able to show him but not able to auction him. We lost the money we put into him and had to pay to have him butchered. He'll be in our freezer soon. Very sad! We'll do better next year! doesn't really like the " Otto for breakfast " jokes so we've curbed those.
