Guest guest
Hello all, For those that don't know me, I am 45, and have lived with severe backpain since 1992. I have no health insurance, so everything is out of pocket for us right now. A couple of weeks ago the price for fentanyl patches went up from 170.00 for ten patches, to 255.00. Simply stated, I can't afford that. I discussed options with my doc, so he then put me on morphine sulfate ER 30 mg. 1 every 12 hours. I took off my last patch about 3 am Wed morning. I started taking my morhine last Thrusday. The hell then began. I was in full withdrawl Thursday night, and it lasted until last night (sunday) My dear husband called the doctor Friday night, and we were told there is nothing they can give me to ease the withdrawls. That if went to the hospital, all they would do is put me in a room, and make sure I would'nt hurt myself, in the midst of the withdrawl. Needless to say, I stayed home, and my husband helped me through it, by just being there, and rubbing my back, and just holding me tight all night long. Funny thing about this withdrawl, it's worse at night when I am relaxed,( maybe a nurse on this forum could give me insight as to why that is) I lost 10 lbs. this week, am severly dehydrated, and my body and mind are exhausted. I need about 24 hours of recouperative sleep, then I hope to feel more like myself again. The reason I'm sharing this is for those of you that are considering going off fentanyl, please discuss it with your doc. I surely don't want anyone going through what I just went through. Now I can really say that I have been through hell and back again, and mean it LOL.. thanks Leigh
