Guest guest
Doesn't feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders when you get an actual diagnosis?!?! When he told me what he believed to be going on, I felt so much better, psychologically. Funny you should mention about weaning yourself off the prednisone. He told me that he would rather have me taking narcotics all the time instead of the steroids!! I really hope he works out for you. I have been going to him for about a 1 1/2 years and have come to trust his judgement. I love that he allows me to be involved in the process, he allows me to make decisions. I respect him more for that, and I'm glad he respects me enough to allow it. My Sjogren's has been very active lately. The cold dry weather doesn't help any!! I must have done something to my back. I started having pain last friday and then the left side of my torso feels numb. Still like that, too. I am gonna ask one of our pain doc's tomorrow what he thinks it could be. Thanks for asking!! Surprisingly, the RA hasn't been to awfully bad lately, knock on wood, but the FM hasn't been to happy. Hope things work out for you, Vikki. He really is a great guy. He was actually referred to me by a friend of mine. Her mom has osteo arthritis and has been going to him for years and years. She has done well with him, so I figured I didn't have anything to lose by going to him. The first rheumy I was going to wan't doing anything for me, literally!! He was appalled by her treatment. Good luck at your next appointment!! Keep me up to date!!...Marina --- In , " Vikki Wingfield " <VWAvon@c...> wrote: > I really like Dr. S. He wants to find out how much of my pain is due to RA and how much is due to FM, so we don't overtreat one and undertreat the other. Makes SO much sense to me! I'm just glad I'm moving forward in my treatment, instead of standing still like my former doc. > > I see him again next week. At that time he will have the results of my MRI and bloodwork, and will probably have received my records from my former doc. I'm anxious to hear what he has to say. I'll let you know how it turns out. > > BTW, how are you doing? > > Vikki >
