Guest guest
Here are two online articles that might be of interest: http://www.HOMEcoalition.org/268/ This one lists studies showing that bio-identicals are safer and as effective as FDA-approved therapy, and that they provide additional positive therapy for patients with Alzheimer's, heart disease and other health issues. You might check out the home page, too, which shows the full page ad that appeared in the Washington Post (I think) after the FDA's decision. is one of the founders of the HOME Coalition. http://www.jeffreydach.com/ Scroll down to the article titled, " FDA Declares War on Bioidentical Hormones " . The FDA has mandated that doctors who want to continue to write scripts for estriol have to fill out a form and submit it to the FDA. All for a hormone that's been used for decades without ONE record of harm in the US or in Europe, where it's the estrogen of choice. Geez, Louise! Virginia > > I just got a letter from United Healthcare (my insurance company) > stating that I won't be getting covered for anything containing estriol > because " Estriol is a weak, estrogenic substance that has never been > shown to be safe or effective for use as a prescription drug. " It also > goes on to say that the safety and effectiveness of estriol is unknown. > > I find it very hard to believe that so many doctors for so many years > have been prescribing estriol and they have now come to this > conclusion? So I guess the FDA endorses estradiol? > > So my insurance company has discontinued coverage of estriol- contained > products. > > But I have a feeling this is just the beginning. Well maybe now my > doctor will give me estradiol-only. > > >
