The richest nation on the planet can do better than this. I realize this is a little off subject, but this " richest nation on earth " that I keep hearing about. Where do you get this richest nation thing? Have you had a look at the National Debt lately? To me, it looks like we are so in debt that we should be considered among the poorest nations on earth. Assuming we should have universal health care, before we all run out and head for the doctors office, it might be a good idea to figure who is going to pay for this. The doctors are not going to treat patients for free. I don't work for free either. The nurses and hospital staff are too happy about working for free either. The government is in debt and the money is worth less every day. So,,,,,, exactly where is the money to pay for this going to come from or are we just going to put it on the credit card? I am curious, is there anyone in this group that works for nothing? Someone, somewhere had got to pay for everything. No government can give anyone anything until they take it away from someone else.
