Hi Louise! A BOA is a thing I made up meaning Backpack of Air. It seemed to tickle others and the name stuck.

Peggy gave us the website for LLBean for neat bags in which to carry our o2 tanks. The measurements are different for some of us. I have a 'small' bag, measuring 16.5 high and Peggy has a bag measuring 19 high. Obviously her tanks are a bit taller than mine. I am on the "Home Fill System" and I think she mentioned she has "B" tanks. She'll be responding soon and clear it all up.

These bags are wonderful. Joyce and Leanne and even Grey have one. Lots of pockets to carry all your important stuff and they come in great colors/fabrics. Mine is canvas, Orange Sky . If I'm going to carry this "nose-job" I'm going to flaunt it.

Carrying o2 has been hard for me. I was dx only in May this year. But now, with this bag, I really don't mind.

Good luck in finding one for you.

HEY PEGGY...WHAT IS THE WEBSITE AGAIN...FOR LOUISE? lOVE, Sher ipf 5-06

Re: Grey

,

Apria is supposed to provide a bag with your tanks, except for the E tank which is way too big to get in and out of the car easily. I can not believe that they would provide anyone with tanks and not bring bags. Even for the Helios. Idiots.

Call and ask to talk to management. When you get hold of that person ask if you can correspond with him by e-mail. That is what I did. Now, I set up my travel arrangements with him and when I need unusual supplies, etc., I send him an e-mail and ask for a reply. I have had bad delivery guys who are useless and the receptionist here does not carry messages. I would have to call several times and seems like there is a new person answering the phone every time.

They are supposed to provide a bag for portable tanks!!! Get one today! Aaaaargh!

Louise,

I will beat Peggy to it. She has a picture of hers posted on the photos page. The link is: http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=shoulder-bags-packs & categoryId=4520 & storeId=1 & catalogId=1 & langId=-1 & feat=dp50

Leanne got the purple tapestry and I am so jealous. I got light blue and Sher got orange. It is so nice because there is a pocket for everything. Eliminates the need for a purse.

We have decided that we need to buy one to match all our shoes.

Hugs, Joyce

No I have not tried to appeal. It doesn't appear to an option. I don't qualify....so nothing to appeal....unless you know some good info!

Thanks, Sher ipf 5-06

Re: Re: beth

I applied for SS last Aug of 2005, for my leg, before I even knew I had ! the monster. I was turned down in DEcember of course so I filed an appeal, which my atty said would take 2 yrs. WEll, when I found out what I had, I called my atty and he said he would expediate my case and put it thru as a hardship case. A month later he had a court date ( 2 months out) but said SS had called him and could I provide a letter from my dr saying I was terminal. Well, I got him that , to make a long story short, he filed my hardship case around the beginning of May, and I got my back pay ( 2 yrs worth no less and I didnt even ask for that) on July 31st and my first SS check on Aug 16th so dont give up!!!! Best of luck to you.......

why are you on SS now? You might want to consider seeing an attorney that specializes in SS disability cases. They usually do it on a contingent fee basis so it would not cost you anything up front. That way you could get a legal opinion from an expert? Hope this helps. Louise/ipf/96Sher K Bauman wrote: No I have not tried to appeal. It doesn't appear to an option. Hi Sher, You should qualify with this monster you now have. Even if you are on SS, you can still get ss/dis. I agree, find a lawyer that ONLY does SS/Dis cases, they usually charge 20% of any Back pay you will recieve. As you are terminal now, that should make a difference, HP 6/06Sher K Bauman wrote: No I have not tried to appeal. It doesn't appear to an option. I don't qualify....so nothing
