Hello....name?

Thanks for posting on our site. This is a good place to learn from those of us actually suffering from this loathsome disease. We have various forms of PF, some causes known and some unknown. Each of us are struggling in our own way. We are here to help one another. We will be glad to help you and your hubby in any way that we can.

I have had PF since 1997. Like your husband, there were times that were good and some not so good. It is important even when 'feeling great' to remember that your body is comprimised and not over do. It is also important to remember that the disease itself and especially the drugs prescribed will lower the immune system. It is necessary to be very, very careful about bacterias and fungus. When an infection or flare up occurs we lose more lung space to scarring.

I am also considered end-stage. It freaks me out, too. They determined this (for me) by HRCT and PFT results. I am still out and about. Slower but not stopped. I believe that like the other stages, it will last as long as it will last. God is in control. We are responsible for taking care of ourselves in the meantime.

I am not involved, nor ever have been in holistic medicine.

We have several caregivers on our board. There is also a caregivers site. Stick around and read up on back posts. We will be here for support.

>> Hi: This is new to me so please be patient. My husband has pulmonary fibrosis, he was diagnosed in 1999. He was doing great then in May he was hospitalized with encephalitis. Then 3 weeks ago he was doing great mowed lawn etc then spiked a 104 temp and ended up in intensive care with they believe pneumonia. Thank God he is getting better each day and xrays are improving each time. They say it is end stage at first the term freaked me out however I am understanding the term better. Any tips I would appreciate. Does anyone go with the holistic approach also? Please help.> Thank you> > > ---------------------------------> Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com>
