Mine refused a second surgery. and how does he know it will retether? I would definitely get another opinion. My neuro also sends me for physical therapy once in a while to build up my strength. You also need to go to pain management. Don't give up. Just because you will mostlikely Tether again, that doesn't mean you will have problems with it right away, or even ever. In my Opinion, I think you might want to consider getting a second Opinon. To a point, I am happy to hear that they are being more cautious with this issue. Yet, I hope it doesn't come to a point where they stop doing Surgery on people who really do need it. It is pretty darn likely that you will Retether to some extent after Surgery.........that's just the nature of the Surgery and healing from it.
