Guest guest
Don’t think so. Seems legit, just a bit strange in the terminology. Guest guest
AMA recently had a similar announcement. Keep in mind this begins next summer, is a feasibility study in limited areas, may take years to evaluate and even if successful may never be implemented. In software marketing they would call it “vaporware”. You never solve the problem – just keep announcing you will. Get the joke! Guest guest
I just sent the link to to take a look at because I find it interesting that basically it is an attempt to "Test Group" and support both IMP ala Jean's "A Dollar A Day" concept and co-opt it as their own.... One would hope that like the Michelin tip of the hat that perhaps that would correctly be a tip of the Hat to Purdue that we have been talking about for a few years now, even before the Chicken Fees jokes started floating around here.... To me this reminds me of the 1960's when the powers that be wanted to try to "Control" and make a couple of modest concessions to the all too real complaints and issues raised by those in the streets ala the Civil Rights protests.... If you have ever read "Bonfire of the Vanities", not just saw but really read the book... There is a Reverend who is the leader of the Black Community that is all up in arms over the Wall Street Yuppie that ran over the person who is the trigger for all that breaks out in the story... This Reverend who is supposed to represent a Sharpton like character from the '80's speaks of "Steam Control".... And that either you give some semi-meaningful but really "token" conscessions to help relieve the pressure ala steam control or you'll have a nasty out of control Explosion on your hands.... Part of Steam Control and Co-Opting the leaders and a movement is by exchanging conscessions that leave the main system and power in place, not really solving the problem while Co-Opting and taking up their Issues and partial solutions as your own and legislating them with lots of clauses and barriers and hoops much like having a Certified EMR is not nearly enough, instead one has to do all this "Proving and Attesting" time and time again just to prove yourself worthy.... What will one have to prove and what hoops and barriers will we have to leap and negotiate just to get our $20 then dropped down to $15 dollars a month if and when it is ever implimented.... or Gordon need to write an Editorial reply to this Article that speaks to how this is OUR, THEIR concept that needs to be done at, at least $350 or more a year "Without" any added barriers and Hoops to negotiate or leap... and that it would be nice to not have ONLY the rs involved making the big reviews and comments here... WHAT ABOUT US???? Why is there not a panel of small and solo primaries perferably NOT part of the AMA to review and design and monitor these test markets and to make sure that what is tested and observed, monitored and implimented actually works to help support the Primaries that it is supposed to be assisting in allowing us to practice and new and better form of Medicine???? Make sure IMP is mentioned multiple times in the editorial.... This is theft of the "Intellectual Concept" without any Credit paid that is Due and at the same time, not actually making sure that it works on the most important side of the equation.... for the patients and primaries themselves.... Yeah, put something in there about something simply and accurate like HYH and seeing how the patients felt about the experiences and if it allowed them to be better partners with their docs in improving their health and their personsal issues and outcomes.... This is BS and it makes me sick to see it Co-Opted like this... But it just goes to show, we all must be doing something right if folks are so willing and able to steal the Intellectual Propery without any Mention of the original Source..... They say that Imitation is the Best Form of Flattery right???? To: Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2011 9:24 AMSubject: RE: Re: Intensive primary care AMA recently had a similar announcement. Guest guest
I agree. I thought this had already been proven. Why test what is in effect? Do we have a way to code intensity of care needed for some patients? Do we have a measure of how many times we don't get paid for very necessary work to get some indigent people on Medicaid or medicare disability? Do we get paid for finding the lowest cost med for the job and for the missed appt. due to lack of transportation or to the late appts due to lack of transportation? Do we get paid for giving out the authorization for specialty care we do not order and do we get paid for the effort we make to get reports from those specialists who do not send the report?
