Guest guest
Hi all! In some of my everlasting prowling about the net, stalking this beast that assails us, I stumbled on the very best layman-friendly summary of heart structure and function, with a view to familiarizing readers with atrial fibrillation. At the very least, it can prepare us for better understanding of what our doctors are up to when prescribing intervention or medication - for example, clearly distinguishing between those drugs aiming at rate control (while in an AF episode), and those aiming at rhythm control (attempting to maintain sinus rhythm. One of the things I learned was the total unreliability of the pulse to determine what our possible ventricular rate might be while in AF. I had suspected it, and many have reported inability to be even moderately sure of their rate while in AF. It is well worth anyone's time to go through this site, (Northwestern University), to educate oneself further about AF. The URL is: http://pubweb.acns.nwu.edu/~sswiryn/afib_home.html Hope it works for you. Lawrence D.
Guest guest
Hello Lawrence I haven't had time to read them yet, but I checked out both of those addresses and they both worked for me. They look interesting, and thanks for the information. Any more good stories. Jack
Guest guest
Hi all Happy New year to you all. I have been trawling through the net and found some sites that have some information on AF. I have found that WWW.Virginnet.com is a great browser and has over 3000 entries for Afib. Here are the ones that I believe may interest the group. Some of this may be old hat but could be useful to new Af suffers. Good luck to everybody in 01.
