Guest guest
Hi Crystal, Gosh, it's nice to see others who don't have the horrible time we had in the beginning. I read so much of other people's horrid stories and I feel so bad for them. I don't dare brag about what I have. I would love everyone to have the same program and coverage I have. I've tried to get several to. I know all we can do is try. I have fought hard for my medicine in the past. I use to even get some of them free through the Patient Care Assistant Programs from the drug manufacturers. I would get samples everytime I went to see my doctors. I never felt as though I was begging as I felt this is what the samples were for. The Drug Rep's gave the docs and abundance of samples, so why not? There was a time that the Advantage Program I am on had totally unlimited FREE medicine. This was great! Then they decided to cut us back to FIVE per month! Talk about a shocker. I was then taking 26 meds per month. Boy, I protested. lol I even had one of our local tv stations in my home, twice in one week. I was on the news. I wrote to every Senator in my State and our Congressman. Someone got a protest rally going at the State Capitol in which I was unable to attend. I had worn myself out doing the other stuff I was doing. Nearly one year later, they increased our meds to 13 per month. This was much better. Still it was only 1/2 of what I needed every month, but we could get anything that we took once per day in 90 day supplies. This really helped. Somehow I never went without my meds. Oh, we also had to pay 1 and $3 co-pays, no biggy. State programs can be wonderful or they can be very hard to deal with. Mine has been both! I'm back on the wonderful side since the Medicare Part D came on board. I was never so happy to see that. No more struggling to get 26 prescriptions per month out of coverage for only 13. I didn't mean for this to be so long. lol I got on my soap box!! I hope you are doing well, take care! hugs ~Tommie Re: Hi my name is Heidi and I am a new member of the group.. Whoa...wow! How often do you see someone saying how great their doc is? It's good to see. So is mine and my scripts cost even cheaper. Looks like we're both blessed. It wasn't easy at first tho and I had to suffer all the indignities most others have until I got my disability and was able to go back to my family doc who knows me well enuff to know this isn't some game. *¬*.¸¸.·´¨`»*«´¨`·.¸¸.*¬* On the internet, no knows you're a cat. ~StrykerMom~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ .
