Hi ,I plan to use 4 bulbs, 3 - 5 can be used... If you use 4 bulbs @ 250 watts each, you have 1000 watts... If you trip a breaker with this many bulbs, means you have something else on this circuit drawing, you either shut off what is drawing (like an iron, etc) or remove one of your bulbs... 4 bulbs is really very good, that is a lot of heat..

You can adjust the temp by adding another bulb if you need more heat, or remove a bulb if you have too much heat... In a larger room, you could add a " closet pole " across the top of one wall to the other, then drop a sheet on this, in effect making your room smaller, holding more heat in.. Just attach a closet pole holder (below) to each side of the wall, close to the ceiling (leave enough room so you can remove the closet pole if you wish), then drop in the closet pole and drape a sheet over the pole.. The length of a sauna should be 6 - 8 feet, so placing these closet pole holders, the pole and a sheet will allow you to shrink a larger room to smaller, thus it will heat up faster.

Ideally you should be about 2 - 4 feet away from but bulbs, moving to and away from the bulbs is good... The goal is to sweat without feeling too uncomfortably hot.Closet poles (may need to be cut to the correct length) A stick of PVC pipe would also work, just be sure it is Schedule 40 strength and the largest diameter that will fit into the closet pole bracket.  This is what a wooden closet pole looks like, buy at Lowes or Home Depot

Closet pole holdersThis is what a closet pole holder looks like, you need 1 set or 2 of these (L & R wall) (link is for 10 sets), can be attached with a screw or Velcro to the upper wall, then drop your closet pole on to these holders. Again, buy at Lowes or HD...

I would start twice weekly for just 10 minutes at 100 degrees... Then each time thereafter, add 1 minute more and a little more temperature, probably topping out at 20 minutes or so... 110 to 120 is the correc temp range, even lower if uncomfortable. This gives plenty of time for getting acclimated... If at any time he feels too hot or nauseous or just sick, stop, do a bit less time next time... After a while this will be easy to do all of the time, a great detoxer! Just be sure to break the time into 4ths and turn 1/4 turn each 4th... This give a full turn for each session! End with a tepid shower..

These bulbs detox by both heat and light...Enjoy!Jim

My infrared sauna is ready to go! I bought the 52 inch power outlet so I couldadjust the bulbs according to our heights. I do have 4, 250 watt bulbs on it

currently. How many lights should I have on it?Also, I was reading about infrared saunas and it says to wait until it is110-120 degrees in the room before starting. I can use a thermometer to gaugeinitial temperature, but how do I keep the temp at a constant, or can I even do

that? What temperature is too hot to sit facing the sauna? How many minutes should I have start at? Is it ok. to do twice a week, orshould I have him do more?Jim, I cannot thank you enough for all your help and money saving advice. :)

Hey ,

This " radiant barrier " is the same stuff you can attached to the 2'4s in your

attic (over your head 2x4s, not the floor ones), it reflects the heat from

entering the attic (as much), thus your attic temp is lower, thus less heat gets

into your home! I believe it is attached with the shinny side facing the roof...

Just DON'T touch that shower knob! Why do you need this reflective material

anyway? If

the sauna gets the temp in the shower to 110, that is all you need!
