Guest guest
Hi everyone, We met with our homeopath doctor today. So she is going to support and help us with the low oxalate diet and supplements. She is very intrigued and impressed as how we see a difference already by only starting the low oxalate diet 2 weeks ago. She is very interested as to how our urine is very cloudy and stool very sandy with black specks which according to the low oxalate group this is oxalates we are dumping out. So she has us using a lotion by kirkman called Reduced L-Glutathione lotion. She has had very good success with other children in getting their glutathione working again. As Ownes told me this is the goal to stop producing oxalates. So I wanted to share this with you all in case you were interested. This has all the B complex and the vitamin b6 is in the form of p5p which is considered a better form of B6. We are also taking biotin which is highly recommended on the Low Oxalate group. These supplements with other ones we are taking are helping us. We are dumping oxalates. Tomorrow we go back to our homeopath doctor so if I get any new information or supplements, I will let everyone know. But honestly I am going by the low oxalate group information and praying this will help get us better. I see improvements!!!! I have 2 attachments that might help too. The first one is a chart of what is happening in our children's bodies and how the cycle continues until we stop it by fixing the b 6 and glutathione. And the other attachment is information that I am using for the low oxalate diet. I hope you all find it helpful! Any recommendations on which B Complex vitamins to take? The listowner wrote this letter to me as a response to a question I had about oxalates and miralax. I think you might find this information helpful so I wanted to share it with everyone. This helped me to understand what might be happening because of the miralax. This is why we are in the process of starting the low oxalate diet. I highly recommend joining this group as well as it may help our children to get better! is a very smart person and has done a ton of research on oxalates! I hope this helps you all:)! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Trying_Low_Oxalates/ Here is the link if you are interested. ,Oxalate itself CREATES oxidative stress, so once some of the miralax has converted to oxalate, wherever it is, it is creating oxidative stress....causing lipid peroxidation and mitochondrial dysfunction, etc.So, the problem is that once you run out of glutathione (and oxalate competes with glutathione for access to the mitochondrion), then cells start trying to replace the missing glutathione, and that is what makes them B6 deficient, it looks like. So, once they get B6 deficient, then that shuts down the function of the B6-dependent enzyme AGT, and that means a big amount of glyoxylate will travel to the cytosol in the middle of the cell and will be converted by lactate dehydrogenase into oxalate. Then THAT oxalate will cause more oxidative stress, and around and around we go!Here is a diagram of that cycle: http://lowoxalate.info/oxalateandoxidativestresschart.tifSo the issue is the miralax may put you on that cycle in the first place, and to get off, you have to stop the body making new oxalate and you have to get the B6 chemistry adequate to be able to keep making glutathione and do its other jobs.Does that make sense? You can copy this to Miralax if you'd like. You are definitely having a dump with all the right signs! I'm glad Karla is helping you. She is amazing...a one woman tornado in getting things done with great heart and creativity to boot! Please join the "trying low oxalate board" to learn more. We Miralax parents suspect it's lodged in the kidneys and coming out later. The PEG binds to calcium creating calcium oxalate crystals. Fresh lemonade works for us............per the an e-mail by Nattalie, I'll send after this post. I don't think it's a bad thing to see it coming out. Many have reported sludge in the kidney's after taking PEG. The article I'm sending is a study with PEG / rats. Please read the files section on how the FDA is investigating this situation. Also, study the 1,966 FDA adverse reactions and you'll see that calcium oxalate crystals are in the urine of people who took PEG. Jeanie To: miralax Sent: Sat, August 13, 2011 11:55:28 PMSubject: are urinary/constipation issues related? please help Is there a way to test if my son can tolerate magnesium citrate? We have constipation and urinary issues and I am trying to figure out how to deal with his constipation and trying to find the right type of magnesium form for him. Could his urine ph be of any indication if he can or cannot tolerate magnesium citrate? I thought I read a post somewhere that if his urine ph is acidic then most likely he would not tolerate mag citrate well. Right now he is getting 1/4 tspn of Kirkman's magnesium citrate powder twice a day. Should I increase the dose or try mag malate? Should magnesium be taken with calcium? We had issue with calcium before. This is so confusing and he needs a relief. He is on a GFCFSFCF diet and right now he is eating only meats, vegetables and fruit, drinking lots of water and taking 1/4 tspn of Benefiber Clear and Natural 3xday. We are giving him some organic prunes from baby jars, too.My 4 year old son is not potty trained. He has always been constipated as far as I can remember. The only way his bowels were soft was when he was taking vitamin c. However when he was taking vitamin c and calcium with D he had cloudy urine and white stains in his underwear. I think he was having crystals form in his urine and we were seeing a white toothpaste like stain in his underwear. Once we stopped vit C and calcium there are no more stains and urine is not cloudy. However, we are having issue with potty training. He always goes a little bit in his underwear before he goes in the bathroom. We took him to a urologist and we were told that his accidents are due to constipation. We were told to give Miralax. We used it only for a couple of days because he was very irritable and showing aggression. He has a leaky gut, a lot of food sensitivities, low muscle tone, anxiety issues, processing delays, etc... Can someone shine some light on the magnesium issue for me? Thank you.
