Guest guest
Hi Gang, Since I have used oxygen longer than anyone else here, I have discovered some solutions along the way. The provider will usually not offer advice until you ask or find out the hard way. (Aaaargh!) There is a contraption called a water trap that goes between the water bottle and the line. It needs to be higher than the bottle...I stick it in the same holder put position it up a little higher. If there is water or condensation, it goes into the little trap and does not go into the line. This along with the bottle needs to be kept sanitized. This information talks about the humidifier bottle and the water trap. http://www.themedsupplyguide.com/oxygen-concentrators/article1.html Grey is 100% correct that the condensation in the line being very dangerous. Fungas is a killer, especially to lung patients. This article deals with that. I have no choice but to use the bottle. I have nose bleeds without it and get sinus infections. A nose bleed on Plavix is serious indeed. We just have to be very cautious with our equipment. Anything that goes up our nose can introduce bacteria and fungus into our lungs. Take care, Hugs, Joyce PF 1997
