Take them or leave them.  I requested these from the R.D. who mentored me on LEAP so this was her response in case anyone wants to take her up on speaking with Dr. Richman, just let me know if you do.  Let me know if the attachments don' t attach.  I am not trying to convert anyone just showing why I use this on some patients that have tried many things and not had success.  And , yes, the diet is not " simple " in the beginning but it ends up making their lives a lot more simple and comfortable in most cases that I have seen.  I think we have all kind of put our two cents in so I'm not going to beat a dead horse anymore.

Hi , have I sent you Dr. ' study that he presented to the American College of Gastroenterology?   I'll attach that for you.....Also, what I point out is that there is plenty of evidence supporting the fact that there are immune mediated responses to food in IBS (and other conditions) , and that the current guidelines are to " avoid trigger foods "   - I would like to ask these skeptical doctors what science based formula can they or their clients use to avoid trigger foods!    We all know that elimination diets are standards of practice, but I have yet to see an elimination diet that has been validated as " evidence based. "   Yet no one questions them.   Doesn't it make sense that we use all available labs and patient records when

treating our patients?    This is just another helpful tool.   There are over 700 dietitians and thousands of doctors that have ordered this testing.   I believe you and I both know that there would be a tremendous outcry that we would all hear about if this didn't work.   Besides, it's just diet!!!   No harm done.

Dr. Lee Richman, a gastroenterologist at Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology has offered to speak with skeptical doctors.   He spoke at FNCE in 2009 about IBS, IBD & LEAP.    I don't think he would appreciate his cell phone number being put out there on the internet, but if you know of someone in particular that would like to speak with him, I could pass along his number to you.

I'll send you the clinical bulletin with the IBS/immune research in a separate email..........

Subject: LEAP studies

Hi ,Hope you are well! I just wanted to see if you had any LEAP studies in electronic format that I could pass on to a doctor that thinks LEAP is just " anecdotal " and there is no real science to it.  I got involved in a discussion on a list-serve I am part of and was quite surprised that some of the docs were so adamant that LEAP was " quackery " (however some docs were believers and supporters).
