Guest guest
So this is an incentive available to newly enrolled primary care provides in Medicare – right? What exactly is a new provider? Are they saying more than two years of claims history excludes a provider for purposes of this incentive? Guest guest
No. The incentive is for all primary care providers. If you are new, they don't have 2 years of claims data to calculate the incentive, so this explains how they calculate it if you are new. The link I sent has another link embedded that takes you to the article about the incentive. Pratt So this is an incentive available to newly enrolled primary care provides in Medicare – right? Guest guest
Just to clarify, please. This incentive is for all primary care providers THAT ACCEPT MEDICARE, correct? Guest guest
That is correct. And I believe it only applies to payments made by straight Medicare, not Medicare Advantage Plans. Anyway, I received my first quarter payment, but not my second quarter, so I guess I need to call my contractor. Why are things so seldom easy??? Guest guest
My understanding is that it's for PCP's who are Medicare providers: " The Affordable Care Act provides for a 10 percent Medicare incentive payment to eligible physicians and NPPs for specified primary care services effective for services furnished on or after January 1, 2011 and before January 1, 2016. Payments will be made on a quarterly basis. " To see if you qualify, contact your Medicare carrier. Most of them have a list of NPI's that are eligible. Just to clarify, please. Guest guest
Sharlene, what MC services are eligible for the 10% bonus? Is it automatic or do you have to apply? Has anyone received their primary care bonus for the 2nd quarter from CMS yet? Sharlene
Guest guest
Ron, I posted a link yesterday or the day before. It has the codes. You don't have to apply. Your NPI has to be listed as a PCP. You are bonussed on what Medicare actually pays you, not allowable (different than MU). Pratt Sharlene, what MC services are eligible for the 10% bonus? Is it automatic or do you have to apply? Has anyone received their primary care bonus for the 2nd quarter from CMS yet? Sharlene
