Guest guest
I know several people that have had shoulder replacement done , one being an 87 year old lady with a heart condition. She lives on her own and we visited her two weeks after the surgery and she is doing great with very little pain. The other friends all have had great success with their surgeries, one of these friends just had her other shoulder done last Friday and says it is the best thing she has ever done. Hope these success stories make you feel more at ease. Good luck. Hugs June ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Guest guest
, I have assisted on several of these (I am an orthopedic nurse in surgery). The oldest being 90 years of age and the youngest in his 30's. The procedure is similar (as are the implants) to that of having hip replacement. The recovery, however, is a bit better because the shoulder is a non-weight bearing joint. The implants are smaller than that of the hip but the procedure is similar. The rotator cuff can be repaired at the same time. You won't be picking up your 3 year old anytime soon. You need to give your body time to heal. The outcome of this type of surgery is actually very good. Good luck to you. Any questions I can answer for you let me know...Marina in Ohio > > Hi, I'm scheduled for a total shoulder replacement surgery this > Friday at Northwestern in Chicago.
