Okay- so after a week of trying different things, this is where we are: My son is impacted in the upper and lower intestines. His diet is extremely rich in fiber so our goal is to get more "fluid" to that area to move that fibrous matter through more efficiently. Most products on the market mention "high fiber" and the sound of that terrifies me as the last thing I want to do is add to his fiber. That is why it sees like the saline laxatives (magnesium citrates) might be the best option.I am wondering if you guys have any thoughts/suggestions or experience with this type of impaction that does not necessarily translate into total constipation (as he has bowel movements ever day). His stomach is just very distended and the x-rays show that he is impacted. :(marie
