Guest guest
Ann, has your husband received a copy of the report on his pathological biopsy? I've looked back in your emails but don't see mention of this. I trust everything was just fine. I expect you know your husband has a right to receive prompt paper copies of all his reports. Secondly, for a query from France which you for one might be able to help answer, I'm trying to find which robotic uros at MD have published their results. The query is from a woman in France whose husband is thinking of flying to MD for robotic surgery. This rather surprises me since one of the best, most experienced laparoscopic (as distinct from robotic) surgeons in the USA is Dr. Bertrand D Guillonneau at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York. He was trained in France and says: " My experience in laparoscopic surgery began in the early 1990s in France, initially at the University of Nantes, and then at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, where surgeons pioneered and perfected this method of treating localized prostate cancers. " http://www.mskcc.org/prg/prg/bios/738.cfm I am sending this woman information about the Paris hospital and laparoscopic surgery in Paris: http://www.imm.fr/ http://www.imm.fr/france/dep/uro/furo.htm http://www.urolaparo.org/version_anglaise/prostatectomy.htm In addition quite a bit of info is online about LAP and robotic surgery at other centers (U Penn, NJ (Dr. Lanteri and Dr. Esposito), Detroit, CA, etc) and about individual teams' results. Have not yet found anything published recently about results from MD . Could be I am looking in the wrong places in the wrong way. In any case, this woman in France is looking to speak with patients' partners. I will refer her to groups like the intimacy list pcai@.... First off, though, Ann, would you be interested in responding to this woman -- and would anyone else here whose partner has experienced robotic RP?
