Guest guest
, I am so sorry you are suffering so with the meds. I know how you feel. I went through the same thing with the MTX oral and then with the injections. None of the so called mes to help with side effects did anything for me. I was like you...lived in the toilet the whole time I took the stuff. The insurance thing is always a pain. May I suggestion starting a notebook with your needs. Try contacting the insurance company and see what the details are. I just go my kids new insurance info in the mail today. So its probably on its way. The insurance company can call for you to get everything set up so you can see the doc while waiting for the new cards and info to arrive. Check and see if they can set up a second opinion for you with another rheummy. It may take awhile. I had the same problem with my rheummy not listening to me. I finally just put my foot down and told him exactly how I felt about him. I reminded him I was paying him for a service which I felt right now I was not getting. I also let him know that I had notified my insurance company the details of how I was being treated. He began to listen for a brief period of time. I let him know this was MY body and he is suppose to work with me to help me make decisions on what was the best treatment for me. Well in the end it didn't work and I have never gone back to him. But I hope maybe it will get you the help that you need. I know my insurance has mail order pharmacy for all maintainance meds. I use to get my Enbrel 3 month supply at a time sent to me via Fedex. It was cheaper than going to the pharmacy monthly. I would first see if they will let you get the first few months locally to save you money incase Enbrel is not the med for you. I still have a few boxes of Enbrel in my frig which I will end up in the trash soon. I agree with you on the pharmacist. Mine is wonderful!!! She has save me so much heartache and pain. The old fashioned pharmacist is the master when it comes to these meds. See if you can get some of your meds from the place you prefer so you can maintain you relationship with him. I was getting meds either throw local pharmacy or mailorder depending on which was most cost effective. Maybe your new insurance has a case management nurse. If so she may be able to get you into pain management doc. Please keep in touch with me. I will share any tips I have. I understand how frustrating this whole insurance/doctor thing is.
