Bio-Rad Gets FDA OK for BioPlex 2200

Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc., a supplier of testing equipment for research

labs, reported Monday it received Food and Drug Administration clearance for

its BioPlex 2200 system testing platform.

The BioPlex 2200 system is designed to analyze a single patient sample for

multiple diseases and deliver up to 2200 results per hour. The system will

initially be released to perform tests for autoimmune diseases and the

company intends to develops serology, infectious disease, cardiac and

toxicology tests for the platform.

Bio-Rad said it expects to soon launch the system in the United States.
