Guest guest
yeah, I forgot about the 2 tylenol and 1 nasal decongestant I take before I go to work in the morning so i'm not sniffling all the time! I'll also take a vicoden in the afternoon or later at night depending on if I need it or not. The days I don't work I usually eliminate the Adderall because I wake up to late to take it (I'm not gonna take it at noon - i'd be up all night!) If I can't sleep I'll take a couple Tylenol PM's... And before I go to bed I take 25mg of Elavil (fogot about that!) but once this prescription is done, I'll be going back to my 10mg dose... The magnesium/calcium/zinc supplement I was taking before (took my last one today) helped to straiten out my IBS. I've had a couple " attacks " - but nothing like it used to be! I think that since my stress level is down now, that helps a lot too. So I'm hoping the magnesium in this magnesium malate will keep it to a bearable level. The brand is called " Source Naturals " and I got 200 capsules for $13.50 - she had another brand but I didn't look at it. I was so tired and just wanted to go home, take a shower, and go to bed!! I was just happy I found what I had been looking for! On the front of this bottle it says " Yielding 416.5mg Malic Acid. " It also states that it's hypo-allergenic; with no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, corn, soy, or wheat. It contains no sugar, starch, salt, preservatives, or artificial color, flavor, or fragrance. If you are having trouble finding it (or a similar/better brand) anywhere, I'd be more then happy to send you a bottle (if you send me the money, of course!) We'll see how this works for me over the next month or so. I'd love to start Co-Q10, but it's so expensive!! I need to make an appointment with my neurologist, he said he knew of some good supplements and vitamins to take for FMS paitients... - > , > > Yeah, it's hard to find malic acid all by itself. Guest guest
, Wouldn't you just love to chuck it all in the garbage? I know I would! I'd love to just be able to take just my multi in the morning and go! Do you ever come across people (normals, I mean) who think you are " lucky " that you have access to narcotic pain meds? I think that's the strangest thing! I feel like saying " You know, I don't FEEL lucky! Wanna trade me places? " I don't think that those people truly understand what it's like to NEED pain meds, at least not for more than an acute injury. They're the ones who get the " high " off of them, the ones who make it harder for us to get adequate relief. I'd give up Oxycontin in a heartbeat if it meant I'd never be in pain again!! Thanks for giving me the name of the supplement. I will try to find it here if I can. I also have a Vitamin Shoppe catalog, so it might be in there too. Well, I'm off to bed. Since I'm pretty much over being sick, I have to go back to work tomorrow...ugh...so I need to get some sleep. Take care and good luck. By the way, how's the job going? Guest guest
, How funny! Fresh malic acid, all for you! I like my apples the same way as you...mushy apples are yucky!! Don't feel uncomfortable about seeing a psychiatrist. They can be a really good ally when it comes to Fibro...I know mine has. He's probably worked just as hard as my primary care doc to help get my symptoms under control. And I know he's a lot more comfortable with the psychiatric meds than my primary care doc is. Sometimes, fine tuning those meds can almost be an art form, and our PCP's just don't have as vast of knowledge as psychs do. They can also help with the really frustrating issues of coping with living with a chronic illness. God knows my psych hears it enough! I know how you feel about going to the doctor all the time to get your pain med script refilled. That really sucks that your doctor won't write more than one fill at a time on your scripts. Since I take Oxycontin, which is a Schedule II narcotic, it CAN'T be written for more than one fill at a time, and can't be called in, so I have to call my doctor's office every time I get close to running out, then drive all the way over there and pick it up, drive all the way back, then get it filled. I actually got so tired of calling long distance to them, and just started using MDhub to request it, and let them call ME when it's ready! I'm glad the new job is going so good for you. It sounds like it's one of those " perfect fit " jobs. A good, set schedule makes all the difference in the world, especially when it's in tune with your natural circadian rhythm. Since I'm bipolar as well, I've really had to try to stick to a set schedule for quite a while...it helps me keep everything " balanced " better. I don't know how you kept those hours as a bartender.....but then again, I'm not 21 anymore! LOL! I guess I can still remember going to bed as the sun was coming up. These days, the only time I'm up late is when I have insomnia. God, that makes me sound so old, doesn't it? It's so sad to think that I'm only 33 and sound like this....what will I be like when I REALLY am old?? And being in charge IS stressful. I have to do it sometimes at work, and there are times when I just want to smack those people. I'm in charge of people who are, for the most part, older than me, and I swear they act like a group of helpless 5 year olds....and like you said, they don't LISTEN!! I much prefer being responsible for just me! Well, you take care, and keep me updated! Much love, Jen PS..There is a very good stretch you can do to help your hips (and your lower back) stretch out. Lay down on the floor, with your knees bent up. Slowly let both knees drop to the left side, as far down as you can go, and lay there for 10-15 seconds. Bring your knees back up to neutral, then go down to the right. Do both sides about 10 times. You can also do a piriformis stretch, where you lay on the floor, right leg flat on the ground, and lift the left leg up towards your chest, hands behind your knee, and pull it towards you, keeping your foot flexed. Hold for 10-15 seconds, do both sides 10 times. This one stretches the piriformis, hamstrings, and the hips. You can also do one where you leave your right leg flat, and pull your left leg up to your chest, and hold it there with your hands (same count). Do both sides 10 times. I learned these in PT when I was having low back, SI joint, and hip pain. Hope they help you out! And since you don't like the feel of hot stuff, there is a rub called Biofreeze that has a cooling effect instead of heating. You could probably get it at your health food store.
