Guest guest
I've only had one TC release, and am very symptomatic again. Worse than most here, it seems. But my doctor won't perform another because of all the complications I had previously. Both he and my pain management doctor do NOT recommend repeats because it always makes more scar tissue (even if the doc removes the old scars, the incision and opening of the dura have to be larger every time) and more problems down the road. You should hear the pain doc go on about this and any surgery that cuts into the dura! I'm seeing more nsgs slower to release children even. Of course, other doctors still have different opinions that surgery will fix all. I know of one other person on the list who has had five (I think, maybe 4) releases. Her doc won't do any more, as he said her dura has become too thin from repeated incisions. It's all a sort of damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Still some are lucky and get very good results from 1 or 2 releases and never have problems again. (Lots of stills here, always two sides to any opinion! <g>) V
