The weather there sounds nasty, Judi! We've got a good amount of beautiful

snow.

That's exciting about the appointment in March. I'm so sorry to hear about

your eyes.

So I wonder why we're having spring-like weather here in North

Carolina. My husband said he even saw a mosquito on his hand yesterday.

We'll probably pay for it later.

I don't know, Sue! You've probably just jinxed yourself by saying that.

Overall, we had a very pleasant spring and summer and relatively warm fall

and winter, so I can't complain. Now I have jinxed myself.

I'll tell you where to go!

I hear ya, Judi!! Here in central Ohio we has an ice storm Thursday

before Christmas. It started right about Wednesday evening as rain

then it turned to this huge flaked snow storm. You could actually

feel the flakes hit you on the head!! In about 2 hours there was

about 8 inches on the ground. Now, I am originally from Cleveland,

so that 8 inches is no big deal to me. Well, it melted with more

rain. The temps yo-yo'd by 10 degrees or so for most of the day.

By Wednesday night it was sleeting. By Thursday morning, most of

the snow had melted and their was ice EVERYWHERE!!! Power lines down

trees split right in half!!. My dad's yard and my sister's yard

looked like war zones!! My dad had one tree that broke and landed

on the boat!! My sister-in-law's brother had a tree in his

bathroom!! Well, my power was out until Christmas day and even then

it flickered on and off for a week. My sister lost power Thursday

around 1am and it didn't come back up until the following Thursday.

Fortunately they have an RV so that gave them a generator to run the

sump pump and a few minor items to keep pipes from freezing.

Because of all the rain, the basements were flooding. My dad had 8

inches of water in his basement. But, I give the power company

teams credit, they worked their butt's off getting power restored

and would like to officialy thank them as well as the one's who came

from out of state. They kicked ass!!! Christmas Eve morning, I

headed to my dad's house and I had to stop every few minutes to take

pictures. For all the devistation from the ice, it sure was

beautiful seeing the sun shine on the ice. I went to this wetland

nature reserve not far from me and took pictures. I will have to see

if I can figure out how to post them. Anyway, it amazed me how much

snow the west side of Columbus got compared to the east side. Now

we have had so much rain that it's flooding everywhere. But, it

could be worse. I feel for the tsunami victims. I have a friend

from Thailand and she just recently heard from her parents and

siblings. The still live over there and they are all ok. For those

of you who haven't seen the movie " Day after Tomorrow " , don't!! If

you see it now, with all this weird weather, you just might believe

it!! We rented it Christmas weekend and watched it on my laptop

since the power was out!! Geeze, I got colder watching it!!! Well,

stay warm all.....Marina

LOL, . Now that we're both jinxed, we might as well enjoy this good

weather while we still have it. Sue
