Guest guest
Jef, I have intractable chronic daily migraine/complicated migraine. Worst of the worst so to speak. I'm in a study where they put an Occipital Nerve Stimulator in me (wires from back of head, down back to " brain " in butt). I hear the ONS did help some peeps so far for intractable migraine, but I am one of the ones it not only didn't help, but made me worse. I am having the whole system taken out on Friday. Be sure to ask a lot of questions, especially about the procedure. I hear the news is much better for back pain. It is still experimental for migraines. Guest guest
Iam new to the group but not new to chronic pain. I guess sometimes we need to lean a bit on others and consloe those who have it worse. I guess technically, I am interested in new pain medicine or old medicine used in a new way. I have had a failed back surgery. Actually a L2-5 laminectomey. I'm getting the feeling that the medical community just doesn't want to hear about surgeries that did not achieve the result. I have difficulty getting the proper level of pain relief, even in a " pain clinic " . Mostly, I am just sad because I really don't understand my options except more surgery and yikes, that would suck. ( my laminectomy was in Oct. 08 and I could tell straight away that it did not work). anyway any input is good for me right now , and God bless you all. dk
Guest guest
Aloha!, I am and new to the group too. I have chronic pain in my neck, back and shoulders. My neurologist is still looking for the cause. I have been to one pain clinic years ago. I was NOT impressed. I felt they were more interested in making $$$$ than helping people. They ran up over a 10,000 bill just on me alone. I hope you can find a good pain management Dr. for help. They are out there you just have to really find a good one.
