We are on the same boat with Nystatin but I do see

pretty good result with Candex. The best I have seen

so far. I have tried Grapfruit Seed extract, Oil of

Oregano, Uva Ursi, and advanced Biocidin. This yeast

issue for us has been very hard tackle. Candex needs

to be given on an an empty stomach but I have given it

with Juice (2 for breakfast and 2 before bed) and the

result has been better than any other natural agents

and least nasty die off symptoms. However we have the

consistent problem of getting one day of formed poop

and then switching to mushy ones with Ammonia smell. I

think we have another major underlying issue there.

Candex is an Enzymes that works by digesting the cell

wall of yeast and since yeast exist in Colonies, It

needs its cell wall to remain intact. While on this

you may want to reduce sugar and starch intake for

better effectiveness. It is good to give it with

probiotics. It is safe and I have given as many as 7

per day (not on an empty stomach) with no negative

effects. My son is 32 lb.

As far as Caprylic Acid goes, I bought Capryl by

Solary(sp?). It is not bitter at all and mixes okay in

milk substitutes but it tastes horribly soapy. I can't

give that either as my son is supper taste sensitive.

Hope this helps,

Haleh

Just had a DDI CDSA done on my NT 2 1/2 yr old because

he has had

ongoing diarrhea for such a long time. Pediatrician

blew me off with

the " toddler diarrhea " line, but I wasn't satisfied.

I was glad to see

that his beneficial flora was high, but under

dysbiotic flora he had

klebsiella oxytoca 3+. As far as natural agents go,

the only one he

was sensitive to was caprylic (resistant to uva,

oregano, goldenseal,

and others). He will not take a capsule, and I find

that the powder

from a caprylic capsule just clumps in drinks and

sticks to the cup,

plus it is so bitter. Any other suggestions?

He also had Candida lusitaniae 3+, which we are

attempting to treat

with nystatin. I say attempt, because the liquid is

so bitter tasting

and I am having a hard time getting it in him on a

regular basis.

We have be rotating various probiotics during this

time, and I try to

get a good multi vitamin in him, but that's about it

so far. If anyone

has any other advice, I'd love to hear it.

Thank you,

Kim
