Guest guest
Hi Group, I wanted to find out if anyone is using ZocDoc to advertise. I didn't find much information by doing a basic search in the old messages. Mine is a relatively new practice and is in Silver Spring, MD. The service costs $250 per month. it is a free smart phone app that lets patients make their own appointments online or through their smart phone. They have an opportunity to write reviews about the provider in addition to scheduling appointment. This system will be for new patients as well as established. is anyone using this service and if so, can you please post your opinion on the service. Thanks Vjshri Kannan. Guest guest
Using it since 7/2011. At the beginning, the first rep was aggresive, signed me before I am in most insurances' network. I wasn't happy with the approach and cancelled it, that was in May. Another rep came in July and conviced me to try it. It is costly, $250/month. I got about 3-6 patients scheduled online each week to my new practice ( except this week, zero so far). Some new, some returned. I find young patients like to use it. It is like Yelp or Open Table. But only the patients who book appointments and come to see you can post comments. Positive comments draw more new patients. Waiting for my EHR to have the type of portal patients can schedule appointments. Then I will decide to keep or cancel ZocDoc. Feel free to email me off list. I have no financial interest in ZocDoc or it's product. Wen Liang, MD San Mateo, CA 94401 Hi Group,I wanted to find out if anyone is using ZocDoc to advertise. Guest guest
We used zocdoc for 2 months. We only saw about 4 patients from it during that time. It wasn't worth it for us, and while Wen is a little closer to the Silicon Valley than we are, we still have a lot of young, tech-savvy people here, too. I don't think any of those 4 patients have been back (this was about in Feb). Pratt Using it since 7/2011. Guest guest
I started this month, have seen 7 new patients so far..but zocdoc just started here, so dont know if that will change when more docs sign up...But have been pleasantly surprised by how nice the demographic is compared to the usual HMO/INSURANCE referred entitled patients.. had one HMO pt tell me today that she had no intention of paying more than her copay because her insurance company told her so..and yessirree- she had done her homework by calling them ,the last time she NO SHOWED at some other office.. Guest guest
Read your contracts....most of them don't allow you to charge more than a copay for a no show. Not sure when the patient has a coinsurance what you do....we rarely charge a no show fee because we have very few no shows. Of course, I say that, and today we had 3. <sigh> Pratt I mean more than her copay for a NOSHOW feeSangeetha I started this month, have seen 7 new patients so far..but zocdoc just started here, so dont know if that will change when more docs sign up...But have been pleasantly surprised by how nice the demographic is compared to the usual HMO/INSURANCE referred entitled patients.. had one HMO pt tell me today that she had no intention of paying more than her copay because her insurance company told her so..and yessirree- she had done her homework by calling them ,the last time she NO SHOWED at some other office.. Guest guest
We have about 2 a month, and for appointments made the day before, BY the patient , they get text AND email remainders, and STILL dont bother calling. I charge noshow fees more as a preventive in such situations. Obviously it didnt work for this patient. And all this does is make very clear that this may not be quite the office that suits this patient. And I have no qualms about losing patients over this.Sangeetha Read your contracts....most of them don't allow you to charge more than a copay for a no show.
