My sense of direction is both good and bad. Ordinarily, it's good. But occasionally it turns off completely. Jane
Guest guest
Hubby (AS) never gets lost, I always get lost. My problem is that I get distracted by my own thoughts, and then I look around me and think, " Where am I? " . I have driven to Cincinnati three times to the Autism Center at the children's hospital there, and have gotten lost all three times. I hate driving down there. Louis In my house, " normal " is only a setting on the dryer. From: Norah Willett I've heard both--that autistics are exceptionally good at directions, or exceptionally bad. I wonder if it's that many of us are either one extreme or the other? Norah
Guest guest
They have a function that shows where you've been too, which lets you know for sure when you've been wandering in circles! LOL! Louis In my house, " normal " is only a setting on the dryer. From: AndyTiedye Perhaps a hand-held GPS would help. They've got some now that are built into PDAs and will give you spoken directions and draw a map. Ride the Music AndyTiedye
Guest guest
Andy, Yes I incorporate limbering into dance, as in classic walking in place mime moves, that sort of thing. > >I am a little impaired technologically, I had one...and it said > things > >aloud like I95 south. > >Weird but south makes no sense. > literal south. Never had a problem there. > >I mean there's true direction, then there's other direction. How do you define " true direction " and " other direction " ? True N, S, E, W means Connecticut is true east, at al times. Canada is true north always. California: always true west, Mexico always true west. BUT my forehead is my (other ) north. My left cheek is west. get it? Dolores, (my neighbor?) She's always west of me. BUT hahaha! Is she true west?!!! Because the sun sets behind my house. So where's my north window? AND if I spin around in a circle is my chin still south of my nose? But come on,TRUE south? I battled with this in school. > Some are easier to use than others. What model did you try? To be quite honest, I believe it wasput out by triple AAA. >> What did you tell it to do? type in your destination?I think. I walk where I need to go, most of the time. It comes from " Wooden Ships " , as the Jefferson Airplane performed it (The CSNY version does not appear to have these particular lyrics).
