Guest guest
Hello: Thank you to all that sent in good wishes to me. They really mean so much to me. I could never have gotten to this point in my life without the knowledge that everyone has given me over the years about new technology, or surgical ways, etc. The support has been enormous in my emotional healing as well. The only thing that bothers me is that I received such good medical care, and still am, while others on this list are being pushed aside by doctors, or told to live with it, etc. It really pisses me off that a doctor could/would just expect someone to " just live with it " and not try to get them back to some semblance of their life. Even if I was never able to return to work, I still had hope that my life would be easier than it was in the beginning and my doctor (esp. my physiatrist) was and is always looking for new and better ways to treat me. Whenever he goes to conferences he always brings my file for other doctors to look at (you know if you change the letters if file you get life?...something to think about...) The point being, I have this great doctor on my side and we all need someone like him in our lives that believes we can get to a better point of health and if he/she's not the one to do it, then they'll make sure they find a doctor who can help us. Please, don't give up - and DO NOT ever accept less than a superior doctor (not one that thinks they're superior...but one who is.) Once you find that doctor, do all you can to keep him/her and let them know always how much you appreciate what they are doing. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. You are in a great place to get information and also vent! You wrote that you were diagnosed with neuropathy after an accident. Do you have RSD? And what kind of accident did you have? Guest guest
IT IS MY REGULAR DOCTOR. MY MEDICAID WILL NOT COVER A PAIN MANAGMENT DOCTOR. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN LOUISIANA. IN FACT LAKE CHARLES. WHERE HURRICANE RITA HIT JENN -- Re: thank you is the doctor a pain management doctor or your regular family doctor? And where is 'down here?' You have to emphasize how much pain you have. You need something like Neurontin, Lyrica, Gabatril, Topomax. I have been on all 4. The Neurontin didn't work, the Lyrica helped me gain 60 pounds, of which I just lost 15 pounds. YIPPEE! Still more to go. Lyrica also caused double vision, and I was homebound because I certainly wasn't goint to drive. The Topomax didn't do anything for my neuropathy. I take Gabatril and it has taken away almost all of the pain. At 10:36 PM 1/27/2007, you wrote: >None. Here is why. Guest guest
yes, Jenn, I agree with you there. When I had my daughter and the doctor determined that I needed a C-section, she gave me the option of an epidural or being knocked out. I asked to be knocked out!
