Guest guest
This is a tough oneI was using dragon 10.1 medical then got a copy of dragon 11 (non-medical)I tried all different kinds of ways to just dictate into a recorder then transcribe later. I never got it to work very well.Dragon/Nuance will claim the best recorder for this is the olympus ds-5000 since it records in DSS files (and with 11, you can use ds2 files.) even then it never worked well for me. That being said a derm collegue of mine got hers to work VERY well, so perhaps my bass voice and nasal sound just does not record well. I even tried an olympus ws-710m (which was much cheaper) and it does get better accuracy. But the problem is, only the ds-5000 works like a digital tape, letting you stop recordings and insert /record over mistakes--the ws-710m and other lesser records only let you record, then stop..and if you make a mistake, either have to start over or keep going and edit it once it transcribes. Its much more annoying than you might think. I never got it to work well. And then to add insult to injury, since I left my last job I can't find the $500 ds-5000 recorder. its SOMEWHERE around, but I dont know where. I would love to sell it if I could...but I cant. Alas. does anyone use or know of a quality digital recorder that works well with Dragon Naturally Speaking ?
