Guest guest
Zelnorm coordinates the muscles in the bowels, thus everything moves in a timely manner. It has been the single most life changing medication I have ever taken in my life. For me, it has been a MIRACLE drug. It isnt a laxative and you will still need to drink a lot of water, get your fiber ect. I dont recommend laxatives as Zelnorm can on occasion have the same effect because things move at a higher rate of speed if you know what I mean.(I havent had any accidents I have to add) 14 days is a very long time between bowel movements. My husband cant even fathom what 14 days would do to him! (it would kill him for sure!) He does see what it does to me though. I get sluggish and crabby and dont have any energy to do anything........I'm just NO FUN. Then after it is has reached 14 days I get so sick and shaky, wanting to throw up from the effort ect. It was so miserable that I think I would much rather go to the dentist and get a root canal without novacaine. I told another girl about Zelnorm (also with SB) and she told me THANK YOU. It has made such a difference in her life she said. I take 6mg twice daily on an empty stomach. I believe it comes in 4mg and 6mg doses. I cant ever remember not having IBS with constipation so this is all NEW to me and I am loving it. It also cuts down on the bloating that comes with the IBS too.........so my pants fit better hahaha Good luck with everything and I hope things 'move' along smoothly SOON. Good luck with your Dr. They are pretty good about prescribing Zelnorm. I hope its your MIRACLE drug too. I know these discussions about bowel movements can make people uncomfortable but it is very important to discuss these things. Many people suffer needlessly because the subject is so personal. Nobody needs to suffer if there is HELP out there. Jules Thank-you for the suggestions I will call my DR tomorrow to see about the zelnorm what is it? Guest guest
Nobody should be offended by this discussion. It is a very common and important subject that effects many people, especially with SB and other back problems. If nobody had the nerve to talk about it, how will anyone learn how to deal with it or what kind of help is available? That is the purpose of this list, to learn from each other and to support each other. Let us know if the Zelnorm works well for you. Though others haven't chimed in on this discussion, I'm sure there may be a few that took notes and will be asking their Dr if Zelnorm might be right for them. So this discussion IS important and might have helped others that didnt want to bring up this kind of personal subject. Congrats on your daughters wedding. I'm sure your week is going to be BUSY!! I told my daughters fiancee that there is a NO RETURN policy.......once he says I DO.......he does, FOREVER. hahaha I wish she would hurry up and get married, I'd sure like to have another grandchild........they are AWESOME! Jules I thank-you for helping and I hope i haven't offended anyone if so i'm sorry.Yes things have started moving so hopefully it's almost over (lol) as my eldest daughters wedding is Sat.tke care have a great week.
