Guest guest
Hi, I'm confused (not unusual)I've been trying to read my blood work. One page says my SED rate is 17? Is there a site where it explains wbc histograms? I went to the site that you gave for WBC but I'm trying to understand it all, or should I? lol Peace
Guest guest
, it depends on your lab, but from the information I've read, 17 mm is usually in the normal range for a sed rate for a woman. Do they list the normal range? Yes, I believe you should try to make sense of your labs. Be sure to bring your results to your next appointment and ask questions of your physician. Here's an example of a site where they discuss the CBC and histogram interpretation: http://www.gomcl.com/hema/micro/ --- In , " " <cyninflorida@y...> wrote: > > > Hi, > > I'm confused (not unusual)I've been trying to read my blood work. Guest guest
Hi , my name is Missy, and my daughter, is six and has Systemic JRA. I can definitely help on the sed rate, but not familiar with the latex positive test??? A normal ESR Erythrocyte (sp?) Sedimentation Rate, which is the measurement of how much distance your cells fall in a test tube within a certain amount of time (I think that's what it is --or that may be the CRP Creatine Reactive Protein test - another measurement test for inflamation) Anyway, a normal Sed Rate should be for an adult under 20. I only know that because my daughter just had labs and the nurse said if her sed was under 20 (even though that's the adult normal) she could begin weaning off the prednisone. It was 47 so that totally bites. Poor thing has gained 13 lbs this time so far since January. Anyway, hope that helps a little. I just have the lab results from when I was first tested for RA well over a year ago. My sed rate was 13 and my RA latex was positive. I went to the site that is reccomended to help with your test results and I couldn't make any sense of that.So could you all help me again? Please? Thank You again. in KY
Guest guest
, According to " labs on line " the sed rate is to detect and monitor the activity of inflamation. Each lab may have their own norms but my lab says <15 is normal.
