Guest guest
If it was me - I would find a good chiropractor and get treatment. I did traditional PT for car accident injuries with no improvement after nearly 2 years. After 6 months of chiropractic treatment I was much much better & less pain. Guest guest
I am EXACTLY like this! I can't believe you posted this, because I have the same problem. Even minor injuries like getting bumped or bruised last for a long time, because they start a run-away inflammation cycle. Minor injuries get bad and last for insane amounts of time. 1) Someone slapped me in the face last year, and I still have head pain and muscle pain in that area. Almost a year later! I have to massage it and do craniosacral therapy on myself. 2) I kicked some stuff when I was having Lyme/Bart rage a month ago (had to go without Rife machine while moving), and I developed really severe foot, knee, and hip pain and barely could walk for a week. Still having some knee and foot problems a month later. It was even worse because with poor executive function due to Lyme, I was getting injured frequently and hurting myself accidentally. What I did that seemed to decrease my injury-prone status: -Nature's Way pycnogenol. Very powerful anti-inflammatory. -Nature's Way Boswellia. -Ledum 200C and 1M homeopathy. Helped to clear up my poor judgment. Can be a Lyme treatment. Can't take either too often, not more than every three days on the 1M.-Added Deseret Biologicals series remedies to my Rifing as an additional treatment. They actually work! Can get them from humandiamond.com. -Added Deseret Biologicals detox remedies to reduce inflammation. (Addiclenz, Chemtox, Kidney or Lymph Drainage, Liver Drainage)-Started using Pekana detox remedies (naturalhealthyconcepts.com). -Earthing all night with an earthing mat to reduce inflammation.-Icing affected areas. They say to use heat after the first two days, but in my case only icing and soaking feet in cool water helped. I think detoxing and cutting down on inflammation helps with this thing where injuries get out of control. On the physical therapy side, there's a lot of PT info online. -I got the Trigger Point manual and a knobble for releasing trigger points.-This site has lots of tests, stretches, and exercises that physical therapists would use, you can get it for free here! http://floota.com/index.html What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, punched in the arm? Would this set off an attypical inflamatory reaction? Any suggestions for trying to heal from this type of injury? Incredibly, because it was just what she needed apparently, Molly was hit in the arm last weekend by some body being stupid...thinking they were joking around...but it's set off an incredible injury. Guest guest
I can attest to the fact that minor "injuries" to others cause severe pain / damage, etc in Lymies. My daughter frequently "stubs" her toes. Something that to most of us would be painful for perhaps 20 minutes or something, and just a minor irritation after that. She has multiple fractures and breaks in her toes, virtually everytime they kick into something, at the very least it causes a fracture. She has other issues as well, but that is one that is to the "extreme". Sorry I can't help with suggestions for healing (other than rest, ice or heat depending upon what feels better, and possibly a muscle cream to help keep the muscles from tightening). Guest guest
Kendra, Oh yes, the first thing she did was go to the chiro on Monday and again on Friday. She has a great one that she really loves...that's the one bright spot in her experience with doctors...he is in Beverly Hills...if anyone if the LA area needs a great chiro, I've got a name. I'm a long time believer in chiropractic, as I went to an elderly chiropractor as a teenager 35 years ago...he was really a pioneer in the field and no one will ever compare to him...he took a half hour with each adjustment and charged $5! My babies both went to him when they were 3 weeks old! And we were a very healthy family until lyme hit. > > What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, punched in the arm? Guest guest
, Thanks for your thoughtful response. Unfortunately, it seems to be confirmation of what I feared...that this will most likely be a long road to healing that arm/joint and will probably cause permanent damage. She has done some internet research on low dose naltrexone, and believes she wants to try it. This is a departure from her 9 month long holdout on using any other meds or supplements in addition to rife. I'm wondering what thoughts there are about LDN? I will research the items you list below. Thanks, > > > > > > > What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, > > punched in the arm? Guest guest
Hi , DMSO is excellent for joint and muscle pain...I really can't think of anything else... If this is used, skin must be wiped clean with a wet cloth before applying... NO SOAP... This is the one I buy... http://absolutelypets.stores.yahoo.net/dmpu99li16oz.html Take care, Jim > > What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, punched in the arm? Guest guest
Hi Dana, Give LDN some time... I don't recall how long it took other Lymies to feel the benefits, but at least a few months... I do think some developed insomnia (short term) because of it... Take care, Jim > > > > > > > > > > > What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, > > > punched in the arm? Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, Wow, that worries me hearing that your daughter frequently fractures her toes.I'm still having occasional shooting pain in my foot bones a month after kicking stuff. Maybe I semi-fractured my feet. The doctor said I didn't, but it feels like something happened to a few of the toe bones/joints. What do you do for fractures anyway? Could anything help us with bone regeneration and healing from bone injuries, like;-microcrystaline hydroxyapatite (MCHA)-OSS-Regen from Pekana (homeopathic formula to support bone regeneration) -MK-7 (good form of vitamin K)-minerals-boron-I was taking glucosamine/chondroitin til I realized that it seemed immunosuppressive (it is) and I don't want to jeopardize my Lyme recovery by taking it. But it was helping with my knee problems. Anything non-immunosuppressive that helps with knee problems? My right knee pops when I bend it. Please let me know, anyone if you have suggestions! I am sick of getting serious injuries from minor accidents. Guest guest
Thanks...I hadn't thought of homeopathics for inflamation. I think you're right...lyme requires a special kind of physical therapy. I think the chiro, as good as he is, actually made it worse by digging too hard at the knot. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > What would the response be for someone having lyme if they were, say, > > > > punched in the arm? Guest guest
Hello ~ There isn't much that can be done for fractures in the toes. The big toe is the one that dr's are most concerned about because it is important to balance. If it's more comfortable toes can be buddy taped, however that is generally more uncomfortable. With my younger daughter, when she broke 2 toes next to each other, they had her in a walking cast because sitting at school she would kick her desk when moving her feet and cause additional pain, or they would get bumped into by classmates. I don't have any answers for healing, most of my daughter's are just small fractures, noticable only by redness. There are a few that cause a purple streak and swelling, those are a bit more severe, but again, not much to do about them. Guest guest
One more thing , There is something that works much better than glucosamine/chondroitin, it is Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM)... I was using glucosamine/chondroitin and just doing okay... I then read about NEM, tried it for several days and it did nothing.. But then I read a study that says the first sign of relief comes at about 10 days, full relief in about 28 days... I tried it again, absolutely the best thing for joint issues! You only take one capsule daily... Natural Eggshell Membrane is the new kid on the block for lubricating joint issues and seems to work better than the older joint supps... http://www.nutraingredients.com/Research/Eggshell-membrane-may-outperform-glucos\ amine-for-joint-health http://www.dovepress.com/eggshell-membrane-a-possible-new-natural-therapeutic-fo\ r-joint-and-con-peer-reviewed-article-CIA http://swansonvitamins.blogs.com/swanson_weblog /2009/08/the-incredible-durable-egg-new-natural-eggshell-membrane-is-a-hit-for-j\ oint-support.html Where to buy NEM, lowest price seller. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU487/ItemDetail?n=0 Take care, Jim > > > > > > > I can attest to the fact that minor " injuries " to others cause severe pain > > / damage, etc in Lymies. > > > > My daughter frequently " stubs " her toes. Guest guest
Hi , I've used DMSO for well over 30 years, never a problem! The only important thing you need do is be sure the skin are you plan to apply is very clean... Take a wet cloth, wipe very clean and towel dry... Then apply your DMSO... At first, apply a light coat so that you can get used to it... What you will notice is a garlicy taste in your mouth in about 30 seconds, this is normal... Here is some good reading material about DMSO... http://dmso.org/articles/information/muir.htm http://www.dmso.org/articles/information/jacob.htm Really , I don't know of a single person harmed in any way by using DMSO... The instant you start to apply it you will feel the relief, it works and works that fast! You could even try just a small area of skin just to test it... Say a 2 inch square... I consider it a great supp for instant pain relief of joint and muscle pain... Did you catch what I recently wrote about using NEM (Natural Eggshell Membrane) for joint pain? I've tried several supps, NEM by far is superior to all the others... It is more for chronic joint pain, not so much for acute pain as it takes 10 days to first feel the initial benefits, 28 days to feel the full benefits... You can use NEM and DMSO together until you feel the full benefits of NEM>.. Guest guest
Thanks Jim. I tried it last night but didn't notice the garlic taste or get much relief from my discomfort. Maybe I didn't use enough - I put it on some gauze and wiped it on my hip and down my leg. I did see your post on NEM. My issue is more soft tissue - muscle and connective tissue, especially my right SI area, ilio-sacral, ilio psoas, and iliotibial band tendon. All of those areas and the muscles around them are tight and inflamed because I let a bad chiro talk me into a heel lift a few months ago and now I'm having adjustment issues. If this continues as it is for another few weeks I might need to look at NEM again. Thanks, > > Hi , > > I've used DMSO for well over 30 years, never a problem! > > The only important thing you need do is be sure the skin are you plan to apply is very clean... Guest guest
Hi , When I use DMSO, I pour enough into my palm than apply to the area... It is very wet when I use it.. But I thought for you applying a light dose just so you could get past your fear of it.. To be effective, you really will need to get to a good dose of it.. NEM is only for joint issues, for soft tissue, DMSO is my first choice.. You will know when you are using the correct amount as it will feel very warm and soothing... Nothing else even comes close!
