So sorry to hear this - I know how devastating it is not to have

appointments honored.

Someone said to me a long time ago that although, in my case, 3 months

felt like an eternity to wait, it was not really that long. So hang in

there - the 6 weeks will pass quickly and hopefully you will be in that

hospital on the appointed day

Hi all,

Just wanted to keep you updated. I was devastated by the news yesterday that

my surgery, which was to be this coming Thursday, December 18th, has been

postponed. A tumor patient got my spot, I was told.

Now I have to wait another 6 weeks. I have a date of January 29th, 2004. I

couldn't believe this was happening, though I know rescheduling does

occasionally take place. I was so ready to have the surgery and I so

desperately needed it to be done within this calendar year. I won't even go

into all the work and family situations this rescheduling has affected.

I cried all day yesterday and now I have to face another 6-week wait.

I know it's not the end of the world, but I feel myself sliding into a

depression because of my worstening symptoms, and another 6 weeks seems like

an eternity.

Anyway, enough of that.

-Anne, I read your message and was struck again at how similar our

symptoms are: I'm 33, have always been able to walk, left foot is numb and

has lost its reflex, bowel and bladder problems, etc. I also find that when

I ask people, including health professionals, if they have ever heard of

TCS, the vast majority say no. Not too confidence-inspiring or reassuring,

is it. Hang in there and know you're not alone.
