Guest guest
Jim, I asked about the 'self directed' PIM and using How's Your Health to satisfy the Part IV Module requirement. The answer is No. However, if I'm reading this reply correctly, they might reconsider if a group of us (IMP) requested this instead of physician -by- physician. Unless we can put something together between IMP and ABFM, I'm just going to do the (pointless but easy) handwashing module so I can get this MOC nonsense out of the way quickly. Pierce From the ABFP: Thank you for your interest in the American Board of Family Medicine's (ABFM) Maintenance of Certification for Family Physicians (MC-FP) alternative activities program. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to consider alternative Part IV activities on a physician-by-physician basis (though, I am hopeful this will change down the road). However, some of the quality improvement work that you want to do may fit nicely with the Comprehensive PPM. Information about this activity can be accessed through your Physician Portfolio. This PPM, unlike the others, has 29 indicators crossing numerous health issues, and will allow you to input aggregate data from an EHR, rather than doing individual chart reviews. If you have questions after reviewing the Comprehensive PPM, or if you would like to discuss other Part IV options, please do not hesitate to contact me by email at nlainhart@... or by phone at , extension 1230. The other more important news, is that there is a way to use MU or perhpas HYH to get part 4 credit. If you do a "Self directed PIM', and you report your finding prior to and after completing meaningul use, you will get credit. How's that? Guest guest
Well, those that are responsible were sitting in the same room I was. I will try to call them today or tomorrow and find out what the difference is. ________________________________________ From: [ ] On Behalf Of Pierce [bpierce@...] Sent: Monday, October 17, 2011 4:25 PM To: Subject: Re: Using HYH for AAFP SAMs or other Modules? Guest guest
Thanks Jim. We (my partner and I) are still willing to be testers for this but we need to start something soon so we have it done by the end of the year. > Well, those that are responsible were sitting in the same room I was.
