Since your LDL also climbed 11 points, that must mean that the worrisome VLDL must have been cut in half - from 31 to 15. Although we tend to think of keeping our triglycerides as well as total cholesterol below 200, a recent longevity study showed those with total cholesterol between 170 and 220 did the best. It wasn't until 18 months that my numbers had finally nudged to where I want them. Your triglycerides are incredible! A reading of 76 surely wouldn't provoke me to give up the bacon and eggs. Your HDL into your total cholesterol is an enviable 3.38 - a 25% improvement. And your 5.3 HbA1c should be shouted from the rooftops! Congratulations! Maybe to satisfy your taste buds, you could try imitation bacon bits: serving size - 1 Tbsp. calories - 30 total fat - 1 gram total carbohydrate - 2 grams dietary fiber - 1 gram protein - 3 grams calcium - 2% iron - 2%

He said the 5.3 qualifies me as a poster person for managing T-2. He also said I didn't need to do 7 days a week on the treadmill, that 4-5 would be fine. I told him I didn't have the self discipline to take days off...and that it helped me control my weight. Thanks,
