Guest guest
Peg, I told my doc that I drink lots of juice and he told me that if it isn't fresh it doesn't work the same. We most have frozen concentrated so the juice route doesn't work for me. Guest guest
I have a question about using Vitamin C on a regular basis for constipation... can you build up a tolerance to it? Is there TOO much that you can take in a day?
Guest guest
If you read the FDA adverse reactions, you'll see that this doesn't JUST pertain to children. Many adults have died as a result of this medication.................many have, metabolic acidosis, urinary issues, grand mal seizures, coma, change in mental status, tremors, clinching, etc. Please read them in the files section titled 1,966 FDA adverse reactionsI'll post a list of side effects we've found to be most prominent To: miralax Sent: Mon, August 8, 2011 3:14:47 PMSubject: Re: Vitamin C Thanks, Jeanie. I'm basically winging this on my own (the question is for myself, not a child). I have a GI who I do like, but he's pro-miralax, and doesn't have much of a perspective on using supplements to combat my constipation. He doesn't discourage it, but just doesn't have much of an opinion on it. Maybe I'll save the vitamin C for when I get REALLY backed up. Yes, go with what your Physican tells you to, or an alternative doc. They both disagree on this issue, so beware. Too much C can cause stones in the gallbladder or kidney but many swear by C. Pfieffer Treatment Center uses to detox. (called Potent C) My only concern is the stone part as Miralax'd children would, according to my doc, make them prone to stones just from the PEG they took. Your body is suppose to shed what C they don't use. But Miralax children seem to be different as why they still have Calcium binding to PEG creating Calcium oxalate crystals even years later. We've always wondered if it's still pulling out of their bones which of course wouldn't be good when they get older. We see a lot of broken bones in children who took PEG. Problem is, unless they find the board, and even when they do, they don't corrolate the two until the subject comes up. I don't believe you can build a tolerance but I could be wrong? jeanie............from what I've experienced, C is good. Chiro's know proper dosing as well. Health food stores can point you in the right direction, but remember.........they don't know a thing about PEG. Seems no one does. Doesn't anyone know a Pharmacologist? Guest guest
, I just posted some info I wanted to share with you. Please read the article fatal disnatremia caused by elective colonoscopy. I think you're find with the C, but magnesium, and probiotics seem to help most. diet changes also. Sometimes, when all else fails, you may want to look into food allergies, gluten casien free.
