Guest guest
Hi Ken, I, along with others, can empathize with you. I have had some problems with severe pain in both shoulders and one of my knees. So far cortisone shots have helped me. I also take pain medication. One thing that was suggested to me and I find has helped is an electric matress pad. I like it better than an electric blanket. Guest guest
Hi Ken, Sorry I'm late with the reply, but this snowstorm we got has taken me away from the computer for awhile. We ended up with 24 inches, drifts as tall as me, roads closed and a " state emergency. " Which means what? That the nuts who should be off the roads are out driving around getting into ditches etc. Anyway, while we still have power (thank goodness for plenty of firewood and lots of Pop Tarts!) I will make a couple of comments, First, sorry you are in so much pain. I have trouble with my left arm and shoulder too, due to tumors growing into the muscles. I can't sleep on my left side, but I do use a " body pillow " (besides my sweetie) for extra support. We also have a rest warmer--electric mattress pad, which is like sleeping on a very large heating pad. Have you ever tried a rice sock? If you don't have a " professionally made " rice pack that you microwave, try putting some UNCOOKED rice (don't laugh, some have tried cooking it first!) into a preferably clean sock--like a white cotton athletic one? And then tie the top with something non-metallic, unless you like microwave fireworks. THen microwave for about 1-2 minutes, and put it where it hurts. Will say sincere prayers for your comfort tonight... Judi the polar bear
