My 5 year old son still has a distended belly. He has increased his BMs from 1x a day to 2 or 3x but that hasn't help eliminate the bloated belly. His only other symptom is a tummy ache upon waking, but only on some mornings. However, it goes away within 30 min or so. The Dr. Mom in me feels that it must be trapped gas, that develops overnight, and is dislodged when he gets up and starts moving around. The odd thing is that he doesn't have a flatulence issue so it's as if the gas stays trapped?? He was on probiotics for the past year and they didn't help the bloating- or they were the wrong kind. I have been keeping a meticulous food diary and can't seem to correlate it with anything he has eaten? I am thinking that we should try enzymes? Or is there just a basic (natural) anti- gas product on the market, for children? Any suggestions? marieSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
