Thanks. What type of blood work should I order from doctor for symptoms of fatique and tics that is associated with any damage done from PEG?

Lynn, please check out the files section of urinary excretion of PEG. ALL doesn't come back out of the body. 4-15% is not recovered and this was referenced by the medical director of Braintree Labs, the original maker of Miralax

Lynn, the article is below, it says her urine did not report to normal until 30 hrs. We have seen calcium oxalate crystals and problems with urine, kidney, etc. up to a decade later.

Has anyone tried an all natural clean out?? Or is passing it through the urine the only way it leaves the body? We r on day 5 of my son no longer taking miralax. He has been going to the bathroom fine since we stopped, however, still has the symptoms. I guess it takes 15 days as someone has posted.

I can't remember where I found this very important piece of information but years ago many said they were using PEG in spinal cord injury patients but I assumed it was using it like stem cell research or along the lines of mending the spinal cord. If anyone has time, help me try to find where this article came from and maybe look up more info on PEG with spinal cord patients to see what else we can find. below is the article.............gives merit to the questions we've had all along. Can anyone figure out where it was published? I'd like to find these researchers.

This is probably the most important piece of information we've found yet regarding the similarities of PEG and EG....................Also, , I forgot to tell you that in this article it states about the high phosphates, etc.

Answer to person inquiring about how long it takes to rid the body...........

For the current patient, a urine analysis 30 h after ingestion showed positive oxalate crystals.

Her urine output did not return to normal range until 30 h

after ingestion, while serum creatinine did not recover

until 15 days after ingestion.

The adverse effects of PEG share some common

features with intoxication of ethylene glycol, which is a

common ingredient among automotive antifreeze solutions and industrial solvents. The laboratory features of

ethylene glycol intoxication include high anion-gap

metabolic acidosis, wide osmolal gap, and hypocalcemia.

[14]

The liver metabolizes most of the ethylene glycol via

alcohol dyhydrogenase, with the final metabolite being

oxalic acid (oxalate). Oxalate combines with calcium to

form calcium oxalate crystals, which precipitate and are

toxic to the kidneys.

My 5 year old son has been on 1 capful of miralax for 28 days per doctor for constipation. Week 1 frequent urination and bedwetting (doctor said it was from being very backed up). Week 2 extreme fatique (eyes 1/2 shut), eye blinking tic, spaciness, change of personality to very mellow. Week 3 started all the different motor tics which he still has presently daily and he is still vert tired at times. During this time took him to the doctors 3 times and never once did they think it was miralax and neither did I. Last night I entered miralax and tics and found all this information and have been just blown away by it all. My son has an eeg on monday. I told my doctor today about miralax and she said there is no scientific evidence and doubts his symptoms are from it. She said if he had any extra in him he would urinate it out and it wouldnt go into the blood stream or effect brain. I would love to hear from anyone that has had a similiar situation.

Does anyone know how long it takes for miralax to be out of the system. Tonight will be 2 full days for him and he still has the tics. Thanks so much!!!

Not sure? Ask your Physician................Have them look for calcium oxalate crystals if they're having problems urinating. A lot people complain of urinary reflux after ingesting PEG and no urine output. We started with IGG testing for gluten and dairy. We also did blood work to check their liver, kidneys, thyroid, magnesium, vitamin d, zinc, calcium, metabolic acidosis, iron, cholesterol, glucose, etc. She has checked everything and still is. And we also did non FDA approved lab testing with Great Plains Laboratory (urine test) for yeast (candida, vitamin b's, omega 3 and 6, and other deficiencies). We also did stool testing with Metametrix for parasites and any other bacteria in their gut. This week and next week we are doing more blood work to recheck some things and check new areas (vitamin a, and copper).

Sorry to overwhelm you with all the tests but that's how we started. I was panking everyday until I got all these results to see how the boys were doing after getting off miralax. I would wake up every morning and still do and pray the boys are okay this morning! I thank God everyday my boys are okay and with me. This is all I do everyday, research and take care of my kids to make sure they are getting better and healing.

One suggestion I have is give your child fresh lemonade it has made a huge difference for us. It's helped with their urine a lot! We drink a glass in the morning with aloe vera (inner fillet) not laxative and in the evening before bed with magnesium citrate.

I hope this help!

I forgot to mention my boys fatigue was due to all the deficiencies they had.....zinc, vitamin d and b's, and getting off gluten and dairy made a huge difference. I finally have three little children running around the house with lots of laughter instead of laying on the couch and telling me they are always tired! We have entered a new world. It's so nice to see and hear this again!

To: miralax From: greekteach@...Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2011 03:12:07 +0000Subject: RE: What type of blood work to order for symptoms of fatique and tics.

This week and next week we are doing more blood work to recheck some things and check new areas (vitamin a, and copper).Sorry to overwhelm you with all the tests but that's how we started.
