Well we were thrown another curve yesterday....which became a very long

day.....Dr. Stuart feels that with Mike's blood test results that we should

consider chemoembolization.......which they say has a 50% chance of reducing

and distorting the tumor....Apparently they have done this procedure for a

number of years and have had good results (when you look at the entire

picture). We flew home yesterday afternoon and while we wait a day or two

for the results of yesterdays blood tests(hoping that they are the same or

better than the previous one) Mike will decide which avenue he'll

pursue.....I really feel Mike will go with the chemoembolization which is

much more aggressive . He feels he hasn't anything to lose but time and his

quality of time is most important.

I can't begin to tell you the emotional state I'm in. Today its one of those

life's not fair days but Mike would be the first one to tell me life doesn't

have to be fair...

Throughout all of this we have had a distraction.....His niece , who is

so upbeat and full of energy, drove from Michigan. She graduated from UM

last year, has just quit her job and says she needs to find herself and try

to figure out what she wants to do the rest of her life.....She stayed here

for a night or two but then decided to crash in with my son and his

wife Jake()......From here she's going to Duke to stay with my other

daughter and who knows where from that point. Oh to be young and have no

responsibilities!!!!! She has been a blessing and has occupied Mike's time

in a very positive way. She lost her mother 5 years ago to ALS....she has a

feel for what Mike's going through.

Enough of me and my problem...I'm very happy that Quantell has been placed

on the transplant list..I worry about Jacquelyn, and her

brother...Nick seems to be a young man who needs to become positive and get

rid of this crash and burn no one or things going to get in my way attitude.

I'm sorry that I haven't been more involved with the group. But believe me

when I say to all of you my thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone.

Lynn
