I was diagnosed last year after several years going from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was causing my high liver enzyme count. I would also like to know if there is a way to search old postings. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. This country is actually rated above the USA. Of course, I have no first hand experience, but my husband (PSC UC) and I have been looking into retiring there. There are lots of books about the medical care and retirement situation there. This country has excellent doctors as they do not spend on the military, they invest in the people. Guest guest Posted March 4, 2006 Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 speaking of disablity, i dread it if the dr. doesnt let me go back to work, i had two shots yesterday in my groin of all places, and i see no difference at all, before i was pain free for a while anyway. i have a friend who is 35 and has one kidney, his " good " kidney is in 3rd stage renal failure , he is a diabetic, and he has nerve damage, muscle damage, and his tailbone is crushed. he signed up for his ss and they turned him down twice. about to loose his house, he tried to go back to work, and told them to cancel his case. the lawyer " i dont get paid untill you do " sent him a bill for 5800.00. now he has hurt himself worse. he called the ss board and his case is still pending, thank god, so maybe somegood will come from it. i dread all this because i dont know what im going to do in the meantime. i have a child in high school who is involved in all sports and is very expensive. pray for me because ive worked all my life and im scared right now. the pain is depressing , i was always really active, and i have the responsibiblty of my son. wish me luck. connie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 Hello Connie, this is just an idea, maybe you should talk to your son's coaches, high school guidance counselor, or principal to see if they can suggest some sort of grant because of your medical condition that may help with this expense. I'm not knowledgeable about grants but maybe you can research about type of grants that may assist. It may sound like a dumb idea, but it's just a thought. I feel sorry for what you are going through and your friend. Sometimes it's good to know you're not alone in this world of " pain. " Good luck and Take Care. I just know things have to be done, and I have to do it. I use to have a babysitter to pick up my son (19 year old, rather hang out with friends, then make money, go figure), but that did not work out, so I have to do this myself, again. Tell him if I give you money I need something in return. Just my thoughts I have a selfish daughter that doesnt get things because she doesnt contribute to the household i. e. helping with household chores and she is 14. Guest guest Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 Thanks for all the info on the which rife to get...you guys mentioned Disability...i just filled out paperwork for it i am 38 and my mom is 56. She has not filled it out yet. I did because I was in the middle of starting a herbshoppe and herb pharm last November and then I had my lyme episode which has left me with neurological lyme. Most days feel like I am in a fog or cloud and body parts don't always work like they should. So, it would be nice to get some financial help with all the herbs and treatments that my blue cross blue shield will not pay for. My husband works for the VA and encouraged me to file.
