Hi Lynn,

I just do not know. This was in the letter that was sent to my doctors.

The doctor at UVA hasn't talked to either or me about it.

As I said, I couldn't help getting the bi-polar disease any more than I

could help getting PSC.

By the way, I keep forgetting to mention to everyone that I have this

incredible appetite recently. I used to have a lot of will power, but either

I do not want to have willpower or I cannot help it. Whatever, I need help

in this direction. I am going to a dietician this week and hopefully she can

help me. I cannot have any protein, not supposed to have carbs and of

course, no sugar.

I think there is something in my diet that is missing that is causing

this incredible craving for food.

I was never a little woman, but now I definitely am not. Can anyone help

me with this dilemma?

Thanks,

Hugs,

Biddy

I would just like to say in it's defence that MSM is recognized by the

Arthritis Foundation (is that what they are called?), also it is NOT

expensive, the bottle we bought, was $4.99 and it is a good quality

supplement. That was for 60 tabs...cheaper than a bottle of tylenol. There

have been several studies done on it and like most 'natural' things that

work, those studies are sat on or disregarded...bottom line, go to a

pharmacy and get the 'natural' drug book out and read for yourself, it

certainly won't hurt you and for a few bucks maybe you'll get some relief

and help your liver at the same time.

Hi Patti!

Because of you most of us would not known about MSM and I thank God that

you found this info!

I have no idea where to get it -- or did you tell us? My " brain fog " is

getting really, really bad. I want this medicine so that I can return to my

normal life. I want to go back to work and do my society column again; I

want to walk and walk and walk; I want to be able to drive again; and I do

want to be out of this pain.

You have given me such hope and I know with all of my heart that this

medicine will do it!!

Thank you Patti.

Biddy,

God love ya for those kind words. I sure hope it can help you, I just keep

digging and digging for some answers to all this crap. I don't go by one

day without researching and trying to find all the things out there that can

help Mike stay strong and healthy until we have answers. MSM is something

that peaked my interest over a year ago, but Mike was so sick of taking all

my 'voo-doo' I kind of pushed it aside. I kept reading about it and in my

VRP catalogue I noticed last month that it was under 'liver support', so I

again got interested...I noticed it under the arthritis association website,

and when there were so many people having joint pain, I thought it might

help. Mike's mother has started taking it because she has knee problems,

she couldn't afford SAMe although she felt it was helping. It may take

awhile to feel any results, but at least give it a chance. I noticed the

other night at the pharmacy all the bottles were gone, the pharmacist said

there is a real interest in it. I got mine at the drugstore but I know GNC

sells it (a bit more expensive I think, but not too bad)....at any rate, I

hope you find some relief.

Stay positive,

Patti

Hi Patti!

I am going to call my drugstore and several others tomorrow so I can get

MSM.

The pain and extreme hurting is finally getting to me after 4 years

(although the hurting - calves of my legs, etc. just started about 3 months

ago). I hate to be someone that gives in -- finally -- but I can see no

other way out.

I have been trying to stick to a diet -- I have given up all fried

foods, no protein, of course no sugars -- I thought that might help, but it

hasn't. I am going to try to get someone to take me to the hospital tomorrow

and see if the dietician can help me. I know I can only have one fruit a

day, no protein whatsoever, very little carbs. I will admit that I go

overboard on carbs because the are very soothing to my many ulcers.

Thanks for your help!

Hugs,

Biddy

Hi Biddy--

Your diet does sound very limiting. Just wondering, why only one fruit per

day ? No protein or restricted ? How is your diabetes ? Do you check blood

glucose levels regularly ?

i do think that it would be a good idea for you to see the dietitian. There

are ways to incorporate some enjoyable meals and even a few favorite foods

into a special diet like yours. Good Luck.
