Guest guest
I wish it was as simple as one test. I've been treating ten years, and finally it seems things are beginning to work together well. Lyme is a multi-systemtic disease and often many areas have to be adjusted/treated for the system to work well. Check out the " cycle of dysfunction " on this website. http://www.hormoneandlongevitycenter.com/cfidsfibromyalgia/#5a It doesn't include the methylation pathway for detox, but my LLMD has had to address all of these areas in some way for me. Then eventually my LLMD tested the methylation pathway through the Genova Diagnostics Comprehensive Detoxification Profile. For me this showed only one area of problem--glutathione conjugation. Working on supporting that area has worked for me. So I've not gone on to check genes. I take glutathione by IM imjection or CE, cysteine by injection, taurine, NAC, glycine orally and my doctor checks cysteine and taurine levels to titrate the dose for me. So from my experience, I'd go the route of checking all the systems, and checking the methylation pathway before doing genetic testing. One other thing that has seemingly been key for me. My LLMD discovered that after opening N-acetyl-cysteine supplement bottles, this rapidly changes to cysteine unless refrigerated. Cysteine can actually be harmful. Switching a more pure product he found by having various ones tested, plus refrigeration, plus switching from taking ALA (lipoic acid) to RLA seems to be making a big difference for me. Hope this helps. Guest guest
, I think you might be talking about the HLA DRB DBQ Disease Evaluation Test. It is LabCore test #012542. I don't think many lyme doctors know about this test or how to interpret the results to determine detox problems. You will probably need some literature to show the doctor. Here is an article: http://www.ftmyerspsychiatry.com/articles/aggressivelymetxfailure.html Dan > > Hi All! > > I am going to my llmd soon and I need to find out if I have a defective gene that is keeping me from getting better > > I have been in treatment for over a year and nothing is working .. > including detoxing .. > > if anyone has had this test done please let me know any help would be appreciated > > thank you! > >
Guest guest
dr.RS, test HLA DRBQ (LabCorp-lab code 012542), interpretation in his book " Mold warriors " .His new book " Surviving Mold " came up several months ago. I believe you can find some new info about testing in it.
